Be Good to Yourself, Meditate

June 23, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 192

Do you ever feel like you're running ragged and have no time to be good to yourself? We hear family and friends saying, "be good to yourself" or "slow down and smell the coffee" or "there's always tomorrow". For some of us these are just clich├ęs without purpose or meaning. Well, you may fool the mind into believing that you need to keep going, but you can't fool the body when it rebels in the form of illness.

There is one tried and proven way to be good to yourself; and that is to stop and meditate. You don't need to learn any stressful postures or buy any fancy equipment. All you need are the following:

  • An allotted time frame - this may be a continuous solid 15, 20, 25, or even 30 minutes.
  • A quiet place to sit - you don't want to lie down because your body will think it's time to sleep.
  • A comfortable position - making sure you're neck, legs, and arms are in stress-free positions.
  • A silent mantra - if you have one; or create a one-syllable mantra such as; love, peace, or Ohm.
  • Or an audio device - this may be a CD as a guided meditation session.

This valuable time slot out of your busy schedule will reward you immensely! Come rain or shine there are two certain things in life that affect your quality of life, and these are, good-health and ill-health life.

In this day and age of fast-paced, instant everything, it seems there's no time to meditate. So, please make a little time to be good to yourself, even if it's just 15 -20 minutes a day. Don't allow your busy schedule to dictate ill-health for you.
