How Can I Find A Husband?

April 19, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 292

If you're single right now, when your friends are dating or married, you might ask yourself the question "how can I find a husband?" It can be hard finding a husband in the 21st Century, but where did these difficulties come from? Our grandmothers and mothers didn't find it so difficult plus their marriages had staying power, so why is it now getting hard to find Mr Right?

Whilst the world marches on at a swift pace, human nature has pretty much stayed the same and so have human relationships. However, it seems that relationships have started to evolve somewhat in the past 50 years and the goal posts seem to have shifted too.

The latest marriage statistics in the UK show that there are lots of men for every woman. So why are women finding it so hard to find 'the one'?

One of the reasons could be the way we live our lives these days. We've never been so busy! However, our lives have never been more convenient so it's a bit of a paradox. It seems that whilst we have the means to save time, communicate easier and earn more money, it hasn't made finding a mate any less hard.

Years ago, women were a little more practical. When it came to finding a husband, they were on the lookout for a breadwinner, a provider and definitely somebody their mother would approve of! A boring accountant was considered excellent marriage material back then because he could provide a stable income for the family home. Dating opportunities aren't like they are now. There was no speed-dating, no dating websites and any dates were usually reserved for a Saturday night.

Likewise, the men back then knew they were destined to find a job, find a woman and start a family. That's just the way things were back then - a lot simpler than they are now. Things started to change in the seventies and eighties as more and more men started to earn more money as a result of the boom in that era. Men started to buy bachelor pads, follow the lives of famous footballers and as a result many women fell at their feet. Mens' priorities had changed! Whilst, it's not only the economic situation that's to blame, it certainly had a hand in men (and women) being more fussy about choosing a life partner and the thought of dirty nappies!

Technology has also had a large role to play in the ways our lives have changed. Mobile phones, Facebook, Twitter and other social platforms have made our worlds smaller and our circle of friends larger. When love could be just around the corner, more and more women are setting their sights on falling in love with a dark and handsome stranger online or winning over that colleague they send flirty emails to at work!

So, how do you find a husband when the world and the men in it are moving at a frightening pace? Well, it's time to look a little closer to home perhaps to find the right person.

Think about your interests and what you like doing. Joining a club or group may seem a little cliched, but cliches exist for a reason - they work! Also, realise that you're probably not going to marry a rich and famous footballer or a movie star. Many women make the mistake of setting their sights too high when the man of their dreams could be the friendly guy behind the coffee counter or the person they sit next to at work.

Times have also changed with regards to making the first move. Why not ask a man out on a date? The chances are you'd be very pleasantly surprised in the outcome. The truth is that men are often just as confused about the marriage and dating game as you are! There are no rules anymore. Anything goes and times have changed.

Finding 'the one' doesn't have to be as difficult as you imagine. When you put pressure on yourself to find a husband, you may make yourself appear desperate and it can make you fussy. Let some good old-fashioned romance into your life. Relax a little, stop the search for a husband and start having a little fun. When you look happy and content it shows, and men find these traits very attractive in a woman. By letting your hair down and enjoying life, you could find your Mr Right in the least likeliest of places and stop asking the question "how can I find a husband?"
