Gyms are perhaps the most experienced when it comes to sales and promotions. They know and understand the importance of having sales on a consistent basis, and also know that each walk-through is an invitation for a prospect to learn about your business. As a result, they never let one single person slip through the cracks, and will always follow-up with each person. With all of that being said, many businesses - both large and small could benefit from learning a great deal about the industry.

Below are five tips to maximizing gym sales.

Mailed Correspondence - Mailing letters, postcards and brochures are a great way to introduce your business. They also allow you to easily and effectively communicate your ideas, while also remaining top of mind. However, it is important to understand that your correspondence should be consistent and reliable. With each letter the prospect should be spoken to in a casual manner that speaks to them on a personal level.

Social Media - Be sure that your social media channels are constantly being updated. This will not only allow you to be top of mind, but will also enable you to communicate with your customers and prospects on a two way level of communication.

Signage - Make sure that the signs you choose are highly visible. They should have large bright colors and letters, and also include a direct and concise call to action. This will help in getting their attention and also motivate them to walk into the gym. Simply be sure to offer a discount with deadline. This will show that the person must go into the gym that day.

Email Newsletters - Emailed newsletters are the best way to stay in contact. They allow you to easily and effectively stay in constant communication. They also enable you to give offers on a more consistent basis and allow you to easily reply to the newsletter with questions and concerns.

Trinkets - Make sure that you have trinkets! Branded items are by far the most effective way of marketing your company and provide a great way of promoting your brand. Just be sure that your trinkets are useful to the prospect and not solely a marketing tool that will never be used.

When you are done, be sure to track your marketing efforts. Tracking your efforts will give you feedback as to what does and doesn't work. So be sure that you track and record all results.
