List Building - Have You Got It Sussed?

Today's short post is about the importance of contacting your warm market to share your home business, products or services.

Too often many of us are told to contact our warm market, and to the detriment of our business we often ignore that advice, instead thinking it embarrassing to call up your sister, brother, aunt, uncle, mom and dad and tell them about this 'great once in a lifetime not to be missed or you will regret it for the rest of your life opportunity!

Tips for getting in touch with your warm market:

1. Make a list -

Yes the dreaded over 100 or 200 people that you know type of list.

Hey, when they first told me to make a list of 100 people I thought my upline was having a laugh, but you know what, when you get down to it, you can easily think of 100 people. For instance I have over 450 names in my phone alone!

Get ideas from the yellow pages, do you know any plumbers, electricians etc.

Check out your Facebook page, often people put their phone numbers or email addresses on face book, so collect them there and call them.

Review your twitter or Instagram, Pinterest etc, are there people on there that you can connect with.

It's not so hard now when you know where to look!

2. Pick up the phone!

I'm afraid that is the next step. It may have been a while since you last spoke to them, so make sure you have your reason for calling. You may want to write out a simple script, so do you don't end up getting tongue tied.

Let them know what your doing, and without hard selling, let them know to pass on your phone number or email address to others who may be interested.

Keep the call brief, only 5 minutes per call. If they are not in, be prepared to leave a voicemail message. You may wish to write down a little script detailing what it is that you are doing in 30 seconds or less.

A good tip here would be to ask if you can put them on your mailing list to keep them up to date with how you are doing in your new business (no spamming though).

3. Follow Up!

This bit is essential, every now and then you need to make these warm market calls, not just the once at the beginning of your home business start up.

You want to make sure that your warm market have what you do in the front of their minds so that you don't miss any referrals.

You also want to keep them informed incase they change their minds and come join you!
