6 Reasons You Should Write Articles to Build a List

Creating traffic by driving them to your list will probably remain the largest challenge of any internet marketer and will continue throughout his or her career so finding the most suitable method and that is relatively cheap and convenient is primary.

There are many ways to drive traffic to your site and lists but this article will outline 5 key reasons why writing articles to attract traffic is in many ways probably the easiest and cheapest that virtually anyone at any level can start, no matter where they are in there marketing career.

Article marketing as a strategy remains one of my key strategies for building my list for the following five reasons:

  1. Its relatively instant and accessible - With little knowledge or background, a beginner can put together an article on their specific niche interest and have 400 words out in twenty minutes assuming their writing about a subject that they are somewhat knowledgeable such as someone writing about a hobby or professional work etc.
  2. Trust and Relationship Building - To write an article about any subject one is passionate about allows the writer to build a trusted relationship with the reader in advance of any interaction and allows the reader to decide if they want to stay in touch with the writer for future reference. This of course is a test of this writer to keep the readers attention and trust.
  3. Costs are Zero - It cost nothing more than time to put together an interesting article to attract the readers to your list. For most people starting out, they have plenty of time and keep the writer focused on their niche and task can be difficult given the tendency to hop from one shiny opportunity to another.
  4. It Allows You to Qualify Your Leads Automatically - Other mechanisms of lead generation can attract un-qualified leads and tend to be unproductive later in the marketing process. Article writing automatically qualifies the level of interest that person after raising their hands and giving the time to read you article. To then say "I'm interested and here's by contact details", you know their potentially looking for information / help / advice etc.
  5. Improved Responsiveness to Future Sales - Because the writer and reader have exchanged views or so to speak, a bond is made between writer and engaged readers, those who have signed up for more, this makes the sales process easier as the relationship develops over time. Needless to say the writer or business has to keep delivering value to the reader/customer.
