5 Easy Steps to Building a Responsive Mailing List

If you are looking to create financial freedom and gain some control over your life and are looking at internet marketing as the place to achieve this then you need to read on. Internet marketing gets a lot of negative opinion usually by our friends and families and this is largely due to their lack of understand and fear of anything to do with money on the internet. The truth is that there is everything you need to succeed right here on the internet but one thing I am sure you are now well aware is that your mailing list is where your success lies. Creating a mailing list is probably the easier part of the process, keeping that mailing list active and responsive is the biggest challenge you will face.

The first step is to Research your market and the keywords around it using a good keyword research tool. This will mean you have a list of the key buzz words and phrases which will form part of your advertising and landing pages. This research must also involve you discovering what issues lie in the market which people are constantly trying to find answers to. This means you can design your marketing around finding solutions to these problems whether that is using good quality, free content or information products.

The next important step is to create a landing page where all your traffic will first find you and your system. This page must be simple, aggravate the problem you want to offer a solution to, and have a simple opt-in box to collect contact details of your visitor. This page is your make or break in your list building campaign as it is here that you will build your mailing list from, so if the visitor does not enter their details then you need to test different versions to increase the opt-in rate.

This page is linked now to something called an auto responder which will build your list, compiling the details of your opt-ins into a mailing list. This needs to be set up and linked to your capture or landing page so the information makes it to your list. Test the page to make sure the information is making it through by entering your own details.

Going back to your landing page, it is here you will offer something to entice your visitor to enter their details. This can be anything from an eBook, video series, information product or some personal coaching, but all these need to be free so your visitor feels they are getting something in return for trusting you with their details. The product will be set up as a thank you page in your auto responder so once they opt-in they will be redirected to the page to download your free product.

The final step is now the most important. Here you now set up a sequence of emails which introduce you to a new subscriber, informing them what to expect from you and how you will deliver it. A good rule of thumb if you are looking for sales is to offer 6 emails of quality content followed by one which offers a sale product linking to everything you have discussed. This is now about building trust and respect with your members so you can form long lasting relationships.
