What Are Direct Access Barristers?

If you are in any kind of legal dispute and need legal representation, then you might think about contacting a solicitor. Your end goal is probably to deal directly with the barrister, and now this is possible with the ruling that happened in 2004 in the UK which meant that people no longer have to go through the solicitor first before contacting the barrister.

This is great news for both barristers and members of the public and businesses, because it means that the legal process can be far more efficient and go more smoothly because of the fact that a solicitor only gets involved if they are really required is to be a part of the legal case.

Barristers are able to get started on the case straightaway, which in most instances is beneficial because in various different legal scenarios you do have to act fast in order to get the best results for your case.

It doesn't matter what area of law you are dealing with or have a conflict with, it might be anything from family law to immigration law. Family law will involve things like child custody cases, separation and divorce disputes, disagreements over property and assets, and so on. This is a common area of law because unfortunately a lot of people need to get divorced and in order to do this they must have legal paperwork and representation. In an ideal world we would separate on good terms and be able to come to agreements ourselves, but in many instances you do need help, with a barrister to represent your case and get the fairest possible outcome in your family law dispute.

Direct access barristers are fully qualified and have many years' experience in working on the direct access scheme. You cannot just apply to be in the direct access scheme, you have to go through training which is highly involved and requires a get great deal of skill and expertise. This means you know that you are dealing with a professional barrister who has your best interests at heart and he/she will be able to represent your case in the best way.

When it comes to your legal case, even if you just need some advice, a direct access barrister will be able to help you with your situation. They will use their many years experience in the field to advise you on the most likely outcome of your case and what you should do in order to achieve justice.
