Serviced Apartment: A Haven For Long Term Travelers

February 29, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 163

The concept of a serviced apartment caught fire in the recent years mainly because it does provide a very convenient alternative to a hotel room. It is basically oriented towards travelers who have to stay for a long duration in a city far from home. The purpose could be anything studies, leisure, business, a temporary project or even a shifting family yet to find permanent accommodations.

One of the biggest problems encountered by people who have to stay in a different city for sometime is the food they get in a hotel. It is rather expensive to have every meal at the hotel. Moreover it may be delicious, but it is definitely not the same as home cooking. This is why a serviced apartment gets more preference as compared to a hotel room. These apartments are fully furnished and have all the comforts and luxuries of hotel rooms like housekeeping and cleaning, utilities, laundry, security, telephone, internet connection and so on. What sets it apart from hotels is the kitchen with all basics like utensils and kitchen aids required for cooking. This becomes very convenient for those people who are accompanied by their families. Even people traveling in a group or students who have come for internships or further studies find a serviced apartment very useful. The main reason is that they do not have to worry about housekeeping and similar things and yet have all the comforts of a home.

As serviced apartments are on the lines of residential facilities, they offer much more privacy and independence than hotels. You don't have to worry about disturbing other guests in adjoining hotel rooms. They are available in different sizes to suit all budgets. Therefore there are one room apartments with a small kitchen and a bathroom and larger ones with a couple of bedrooms. This means that you do not have to book a separate room for the children. Further you can rent a serviced apartment which has all the luxuries you want or if that doesn't fit in your budget you can go in for something less expensive. As a rule these apartments are generally more economical and are best suited for a stay of a month or even more as your requirement may be. This does not mean that you cannot hire them for a week or so. However you will find that you will get discounted rates for longer stays. Some people even prefer them over rented apartments as they are set free from the day-to-day cleaning and maintenance. Moreover they get all the facilities without having to arrange and pay for them separately.

It is quite easy to book a serviced apartment online as there are a number of companies which offer such apartments in a variety of locations all over the world. However before making a booking it is better to confirm all that is included in the rent. You may also be required to pay a deposit beforehand. Unexpected expenses can throw your budget haywire and spoil the fun of your stay.
