The Letter Gimmel of the Hebrew Alphabet

April 17, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 224

The letter Gimmel is the third letter of the Hebrew Alphabet. Now let's dissect what it means because as you learn these letters and you learn the spiritual journey behind these letters, it will radically give you a thirst not only for His language because I can assure you it's not English. In the millennium, He is not going to be speaking English or Spanish or French. You know why Jesus said that He would only come back in the next millennium? It is because He wants us to learn His language. That's how long it would take us to learn the Hebrew Language.

The original form of the letter Gimmel is a pictograph that kind of looks like a letter "L" of the English Alphabet. Like any other letter of the Hebrew Alphabet, the letter Gimmel evolved from its original form to the modern block letter that we are more familiar with as time goes by. From its original form it evolved into a Gemtria which means three, what is three? What is Gematria? Gematria is something that just means the every Hebrew letter has a number attached to it and every number is a Hebrew letter, okay? It didn't have separate letters and separate numbers as they were all connected. From Gematria, it evolved into the Ktav Ivri which is about three thousand years old then move up to the Ktav Ashurit which is the letter format of what our Lord Yeshua saw when He read the scrolls. And then finally today's Book Type which is what we are going to tackle in this article.

Gimmel means camel! That's what Gimmel means okay? Gimmel is connected to a camel; as a matter of fact if you look carefully into its book type form you can almost kind of see a camel in the actual letter itself with the legs and with the neck.

So now what is a camel? To us today that is kind of a strange but interesting animal but it doesn't mean a whole lot because we drive cars and we drive SUV's and we fly planes and everything to get around in our transportation nowadays but in ancient Egypt, this is the mode of transportation for a particular group of people which is the rich. If you are poor, a donkey would be your mode for transportation because the camel is only for the rich. This is the reaon why Mary and Joseph came in on a donkey and not on a camel.

Do kings come in on donkeys? No! Kings come in on camels okay? So transporting you back in time to ancient Israel in ancient days two or three thousand years ago, this was a very important animal. As a matter of fact most of you may not know that a camel is a very fast animal. It is a very fast animal; it could go very quickly when it needs to. It is the perfect animal for walking through ancient Israel and the sands in the wilderness.

I'm Jim Staley Mo. It is my heart's desire that you will be challenged and transformed through the materials and resources that are in this article. Whether it's about Jewish holidays, the Sabbath Day, or the meaning of Christmas, history of Easter, origin of Christmas, or any other Hebraic topics, we want you to know the truth because the truth will only do one thing!
