Have you read an email, magazine article, or newspaper recently that was grammatically incorrect in the use of the words: "two", "to", and "too"? Better yet, have you wondered how in the world that typo got through? Many of us have read and wondered. Unfortunately it appears to be happening more frequently. But how can it, if we have spell check?

Here's how it happens. As far as the spell checker is concerned the word is spelled correctly, so why should it change it or let you know it's wrong?

It's a fact that there are several English words that sound alike and no one would know there's a difference when speaking, however, when it comes to the written language it makes a great big difference.

Here are just three of the most commonly misspelled words in the written English Language that can cause grammatical errors to occur, but don't despair, these errors can be corrected by knowing the different meanings of "two", "to", and "too".

Here goes:

· Two means the number 2, which is a numerical value, a naming in a series, the number of people or objects in a group. Sample sentence: There were two chairs on the patio.

· To means in the direction of, going towards, on the way to, just before, headed to, en route to, on the road to. Sample sentence: I'm going to the library.

· Too means also, as well, extreme, extremely, to a higher degree, more than is desired, very, in excess. Sample sentence: This box is too heavy.

These grammatical errors can be remedied by knowing the difference between "two" "to" and "too". As mentioned earlier, spell checker won't catch them because they're all spelled correctly, but you can. Besides, the emails and/or articles will have a more professional look with the correct word usage.
