Which Juicer Is The Best For YOUR Kitchen?

May 25, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 207

The question "which juicer is the best" is almost the same as asking which car is the best? You'll get as many brands (from Ferrari to Hummer to Lamborghini and so on) as the number of people you ask this query.

There is such an endless, diverse range of juicer models available on the market that choosing one is a sheer pain in the neck. If you choose a wrong model - either by falling for a lower price or choosing a juicer that doesn't fit your bill perfectly - you'll end up wasting a lot of money.

How to choose the ideal juicer as per your needs?

To make your endeavor easy, let's consider some of the major factors you should consider before purchasing a juice extractor.

1. Cost

Everybody loves Lamborghini but not everyone can buy it - same goes for several juice machines. The price tag for juicers ranges from $30 to $2000. So the first thing you should take into account is the budget you can shell out.

Remember, cheapest deal is not always the best deal. You might save a few bucks by going for a low-quality product, but at the end of the day you'll pay a lot more in terms of time, juice quality and sweat.

2. Type of produce

Are you buying this juicer to extract citrus fruits, veggies, leafy greens, wheatgrass, whole grains or any other items? Once you figure this out, the wide range narrows down to a few contenders.

3. Ease of operation

Many people get fed up soon after buying a new, expensive juice extractor and usually the reason behind is that they don't want to waste hours on assembling the juicer, food prep, extracting the juice and then cleaning the juicer as well as the mess on the countertop.

Make sure the juicer you choose has been designed for an easy operation, needs minimal prep work and is easy to clean.

4. Durability

To get the best bang for your buck, you would ideally want your juicer to last for many years to come. Juicers made of stainless-steel usually outlive their opponents that are made of plastic. Furthermore, if you want to juice citrus fruits, your juicer should ideally have an acid-restart finish.

5. Yield

Some people are happy to save 100 bucks on a cheap juicer. But they don't know the fact that this juicer costs them many times more by leaving considerable amount of juice inside the pulp.

It might not look much of an issue when you see little amount juice wasted in one session. But if you juice regularly, imagine how much juice you will waste in one year?

6. Juice quality

If your juicer holds the juice in a jar, make sure it's BPA-free and deoxidized. Some poor quality juicers can mix aluminum or other hazardous elements into your juice - you are juicing for health, not to ruin your health, right?

7. Size and weight

Do you have a hefty, luxurious kitchen and outsized cabinets? If yes, this might not be an issue. However, if you have a smaller kitchen and standard size cabinets, buy a juicer that fits in easily. Unless, you'll keep your juicer fixed at your countertop, you would want a juicer that's not too heavy to move around.
