Caring for Your Wolf Dual Fuel Range

May 30, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 244

The Dual Fuel range from Wolf is one of the most sought after kitchen appliances in the world, with many professional chefs choosing to use them in their kitchens at home. As well as its unrivalled cooking performance, huge capacity and sleek design, the Dual Fuel range is highly versatile and customisable, which makes it appealing not only to professional chefs, but anyone with a serious passion for cooking.

Wolf kitchen appliances are designed to withstand the test of time, and with the right care and attention, can last for generations. However, despite the Dual Fuel range's robustness, it still requires a degree of special care and attention. Here are some key points to bare in mind when it comes to caring for your range.

Cleaning When it comes to cleaning the range, it's important not use any commercial oven cleaners or protective coatings on or around any part of the oven, as doing so could cause serious damage to the oven. Instead, you should always use self-clean mode.

To use self clean mode, first open the hidden control panel, by pressing on the flame symbol located on the front of the panel. Next, remove everything from the oven, including oven racks and rack guides, as leaving them in may cause discolouring. Once empty, turn the oven selector knob until it shows the self-clean symbol. This will prepare the oven to self clean for four hours - three hours to clean and one hour to cool. Then turn the oven selector knob in either direction until "cln" is displayed. The oven door will then lock for the duration of the clean.

Exterior cleaning To cleaning the Wolf's stainless steel exterior, you will need a soft, nonabrasive stainless steel cleaner, applied with a soft, clean cloth. To bring out the natural lustre, gently wipe the surface with a damp microfibre cloth, then repeat with a dry microfibre cloth. For best results, be sure to follow the grain of the finish, and maintain constant contact with the metal.

Additional cleaning tips

  • Ensure surfaces have cooled prior to cleaning.
  • Try to wipe up splashes and spillages as they occur, and immediately after the range has cooled. If left and cooked on, they could cause permanent damage.
  • If unsure about using any type of cleaner, first read the label, then try a small test on an inconspicuous area of the range.
  • Take particular care when using spray cleaners, as many contain harmful ingredients that could potentially damage the range.
  • Avoid spraying cleaning products on or near electric controls, valve stems, ignitors, wires or valve stems.
  • To remove hard water stains, use a mix of white wine vinegar and water.

Finally, should anything go wrong with your range, do not attempt to repair or replace parts unless specifically recommended to do so in the accompanying literature.

The advice given here is merely based on key considerations. For further advice about caring for your Dual Fuel range, you should consult your Wolf Use & Care Guide.
