Private Space Flight Will Need Advanced Noise Reduction Technologies to Succeed

Okay so, I was born around the time that we put a man on the moon, and I grew up in the era where America had proved its greatness, and was looking forward to the future of spaceflight. Unfortunately, something happened after that, something that wasn't too pretty, NASA's budget was cut drastically, and they began to become ultraconservative in taking risks. This meant that fewer great projects were slated, and NASA became bound with bureaucracy. Now then, I don't want that to happen again, and I see some more dark clouds on the horizon and I'd like to talk to you about that for a moment.

You see, since I have a fascination with spaceflight, and some might consider me a borderline geek for my love of science fiction I have listened to countless interviews of those who have taken off in rockets with enough fervor to reach escape velocity. What they say is that it is like 1000 freight trains under your butt, and those who are watching at Cape Canaveral have often said that the thunder is like a massive earthquake, and you think that the Earth is going to break in half. Obviously, it takes a lot of thrust to pick up a space shuttle and shove it into orbit.

And this brings me to my main point here today; we are going to need some sort of noise reduction technologies if private space flight is to succeed in the coming decades. It's just too noisy and there's too much commotion. Perhaps that's why Virgin Galactic decided to put their spaceport in an unpopulated area of New Mexico, so no one would complain about the noise. Heck, at Alamogordo where they do lots of testing, even the animals don't complain anymore, they've evolved to expect it early and often, shattering the peace as if the world is going to end.

Still, no one wants to watch their relatives take off in a spaceship, or from a ground based rocket and risk blowing out their eardrums. So private spaceflight will need to figure a way to keep the noise to a minimum using the latest and greatest technologies thus, this is a heads up for anyone with a degree in acoustics that wants to solve a real problem for humanity, noise pollution, and there will be no greater noise pollution than that of rockets firing off through the Earth's atmosphere. Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it at your earliest convenience.
