Giving Aid in Poverty-Stricken Socialist Countries Only Promotes More of the Same

February 27, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 239

There are endless NGOs and do-gooders, many famous most not, who wish to help the poverty-stricken poor of the world. However, a word of advice might be to hold off on helping poverty-stricken individuals in socialist nations. After all if you give something to someone who has been promised so much from their government, and yet that government has not delivered, then all you're doing is feeding into the lie of the government which has done those people wrong, and you are going to have to work with that government to bring in the help. Thus, you are giving credibility to a government which does not deserve it and are perpetuating a population of less than productive citizens.

Now then, you can accuse me of having no empathy, and blast me for being a member of the Ayn Rand Institute, but I would submit to you that if you give to a group of people who expect to get, you are only perpetuating a government, society, and civilization which has produced the poverty in the first place. Why would you do that? You might say we should people because they are starving, however let's say the people in Greece are starving, and let's say this happens in the near future, and we are all enlisted to send aid, but, whose fault is it?

I would submit to you that it is the fault of the citizens who continually voted for free stuff from their government, demanding more and more, until the government collapsed, which caused a collapse in the transportation, distribution, agriculture, and government itself. Then people started to starve.

It's a horrible thing, don't get me wrong, but whose fault is it. If you help people who refuse to help themselves, and are expecting a free handout from anywhere, any way they can get it, including humanitarian organizations, then they are taking from other people who are willing to work and bring themselves up, and become productive citizens to get the ball rolling so they can provide for themselves in the future.

Therefore, I believe giving aid in poverty-stricken socialist nations does a disservice to humanity, it allows other nations to make the same mistake, and in the end it will create more mouths to feed, not fewer. Is that what you want to be known for in your lifetime? Do you want to be known as someone who perpetuated and caused the continuation of poverty-stricken individuals? Yes or no? This is a simple question.

Tough love is often considered the best type of parenting, people deserve to know that when they continually ask for stuff and if their government which continually promises them things they can't afford - that their civilization will come crashing down. People have the right to know that, and they should know that socialism is a dead end. Pretending it's not, and buying into the empathy trap, or socialist motif will do no good for human beings on this planet. Please consider all this and think on it.
