Guide to Staying On Property at Disney World

April 15, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 97

You already know you want to stay on Disney World Property because of the many advantages: extended park hours, access to Disney transportation, complimentary shuttle service from the resort to the airport, and delivery of any purchased items from stores to your room - among many others. You just have not been able to decide where you want to stay.

But now, time is closing in. Soon you have to finalize your selections for your upcoming Disney World trip and that includes your accommodations. You find yourself overwhelmed because of all the information about each resort. Condensing the information into the basic facts will help you make the choice that best meets the needs of your family.

Value Resorts

Several different options await you in the Value Resort category. You can choose to stay at Pop Century, All Star Music, All Star Movies, or All Star Sports. Each of these resorts center around the theme of their name. With motel style entries and rooms that face the themed pools, these resorts can be a bit noisy and a lot of fun. For transportation from any of the value resorts you will be relying on the buses and at times, this can be a long wait. Standard rooms are configured similar to a typical motel or hotel so that you have the choice of two double beds or one king bed. These resorts are a great value if you want to spend the majority of your time and money on park related activities.

Moderate Resorts

The next level, moderate, also includes choices such as: Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs, Port Orleans - Riverside, and The French Quarter. Like the Value resorts, these four also stay very true to their theme throughout the entire resort. And also like the Value resorts, you enter these moderate resorts from the exterior; however, noise is not as much of a concern and the entries are more aesthetically appealing. You can access all parks by bus from these resorts and use boat transportation to Downtown Disney from Port Orleans and The French Quarter. The Moderate resorts offer a variety of rooms to choose from. While the standard rooms are similarly configured to Value resorts, you will notice a significant difference between the Value and Moderate rooms in the extra amenities and public areas. Each resort has a theme pool with waterslides as well as a variety of eating areas. Any of these resorts will be the right choice for you if your family wants a simple hotel-like stay with many amenities.

Deluxe Resorts

May choices handsomely drop into this category as you move into the next level: The Animal Kingdom, Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk Inn, Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian, and the Polynesian offer amenities and breathtaking beauty. Lush themes filter through each of the resorts and grandeur fills your senses as you walk through each. You can enter all rooms from an interior corridor and the standard rooms sleep four to five depending on the rooms. Transportation for these resorts vary as well, ranging from walking if you are close enough to your destination, to riding a bus, the monorail, or a boat. Each resort exudes hotel luxury from the services and amenities they offer your family down to the activities and opulent pools. These resorts are perfect for your family if you want to enjoy the luxury of a full service hotel as well as the individual parks.

Additional Accommodations

If they typical resort is not for your family, you still have two major options to investigate. The Deluxe Villas are sold as part of a timeshare but you are able to reserve one through the Disney booking system. These can be reserved as a studio or one bedroom villa, which would sleep four, a two bedroom villa which sleeps eight, or the three bedroom villa which holds up to twelve.

Your second option will be perfect if your family loves the outdoors. The Fort Wilderness campsite and cabins will reach out to your nature loving side and provide a lower cost lodging alternative. Either of these will be ideal for you if your family wants something a little different.

Knowing the basics of each resort group allows you and your family to wade through the confusion of overwhelming information. You can then make the choice that is best for your family.
