Are You a Beginner? Stick to Small Horse Racing Fields

February 24, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 186

In the present seemingly harsh economic times, many people are hunting for some extra sources of income. Not that they want some hard labor jobs just to make that extra dough, but they want something less demanding in terms of labor. Gambling has proven to be a fantastic source of income for a relatively long time. With the prosperity of some punters, more people are turning to betting. These people perceive horse race betting as "greener fields", and they are willing to invest in order to make substantial profits. However, if you are a novice in the horse racing industry, then you have to stick to betting on small-field horse races.

One of the key aspects in betting during horse races is the field size. If you are entirely a novice, chances are that you are not aware of the distinct fields and distinct horses as much. Therefore, it is safe if you stick to small field races. This is because the more the horses in a field, the more the selections, the harder it is to chose a horse to place your bet on. Given you are doing it for monetary or economic reasons, you have to scrutinize to know more about all the horses in a racing field.

Despite the fact that the bigger fields bring larger layoffs, you ought to stay within a field size of about six. Why? Any extra horse in a field means finding out more information that makes only one horse stand out. The more the horses the harder it becomes to select the horse that you will place your bet on. Well, you might decide to place a bet on several horses, but is this the way to kick start your career? Definitely not. You have to start from betting on one horse as you learn crucial betting information and procedure.

Moreover, you will spend more time on one race if you go for the bigger fields. In small fields, you can easily make your pick and move on to the next horse race. This way, you are able to learn more information, and chances are that you will not lose your first bet. There is also the issue of traffic in bigger horse field races. These horses are many, and the possibility of some falling or going off the track is extremely high. You can never tell what can happen in such races. On the other hand, in small field races, there is little or no traffic. You can be certain that your chosen horse will finish the race, and possibly win.

It is extremely significant for you to do some extensive research, mainly through previous horse racing results, before placing any bet. You have to find information about each promising horse, and its results for distinct races. Compare the results of distinct horses side by side to ensure you pick the best. You can only do this if you have few horses to compare. Therefore, as a beginner, small field races will be your best bet. Remember you are doing this for the money and not entirely for the fun of it.
