Full Body Scan As Preventive Medicine

February 24, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 189

Prevention is better than cure. It's been said time and time again, but the truth can never be taken away from this classic quote. Whenever we need a remedy for anything, it would be better to not acquire any problems in the first place. Case in point: cancer.

Cancer is one of the most dreaded diseases in medical history. Cancer is incurable, and once terminal, your life will be on borrowed time. Some cancer patients might say that, while the sickness that they have currently has no cure, it would have been best if there would have been a way to avoid it in hindsight.

Another prime example of this line is trying to cut the branches of a tree. If we try to remove the tree in the forest by its branches, the tree will grow a new pair, and the entire plant will remain in its place. However, if you cut the plant by its roots, or don't plant the seed at all, there won't be any tree standing in that spot at all.

Full body scanning is one of the methods used by physicians for preventive screening. The objective of full body scanning is to pinpoint any malignancies in the human body, and give doctors a quicker diagnosis of a patient's sickness and how it could be remedied. The advantage of having a full body scan is by detecting tumors and cancer cells at an early stage, which therefore can be treated before it becomes terminal or to the point that it becomes incurable.

One of the methods of full body scanning is a CT Scan, or Computed Tomography Scan, where a machine captures highly detailed, 3-dimensional images of a human body's internal structures that can go deeper than X-rays and ultrasound machines. A full body scan using a CT scan has the capability to detect potential diseases at an early stage. Therefore, early stage identification can improve the probability of curing the said illness, similar to how you remove a plant by the roots instead of waiting for the tree to grow sturdy until it dies.

In other words, the technology made in CT Scans and full body scans allows doctors to get a detailed and clearer view of the body, which can uncover various malignancies in its benign stage, like infections or tissue defects, and polyps, an early stage in which a cell could potentially regress in our bodies, and develop into a cancer.

Full body screening should be required during annual mandatory company check-ups. Full body scans can determine if surgery is necessary, exploring during surgery is reduced, an improvement in cancer diagnosis and treatment, better preventive health care, reduced periods of hospitalization for patients, guiding treatment of conditions such as cardiac diseases and stroke, and detect malignancies that cannot be found in other diagnostic methods.

A full body scan not only saves you time and second guessing on diagnosing, it can also save and prolong your life as well.
