One Step at a Time: Stop Being Overwhelmed

July 05, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 197

Listening to that silent voice will eventually guide you to ultimate happiness. However, sometimes, if you pay attention to what that voice tells you, it might not always be what you want to hear. Sometimes, that voice might be blunt, might open your eyes to things that you wanted them to be closed. This voice might tell you things that you wanted to avoid at all cost and not wanting to face your present challenges.

Everything in life requires hard work and sometimes these challenges might be very hard to overcome. Nothing comes easy. You've heard that one before. If you really want something, you need to put your all into what you want to achieve. However, when you do get what you want, you sometimes forgot how much work it required to get to where you are at this point in your life. When you listen to that voice, it might not always bring you instant happiness, however, this is not about instant gratification, it is a process, a long one sometimes, but at least you are on your way up climbing that mountain. It can be physically and mentally painful to climb a 45 degree angle, but more you push yourself to the top, more the view up there becomes clear and more and more your goals and achievements are to be expected.

Let's take the example of bodybuilding (minus anabolic steroids). When you go to the gym, your sole purpose should be to build the perfect body and NOT to socialize, well, maybe a little. You need to wake up early, do some cardio, and then come back at night to do resistance training to built muscles. Day after day, night after night, the same routine has to be applied. However, when you go up on that stage for competition, you can finally look on all the hard work that was put into your body and your fans will appreciate it. The key is to listen to that voice that will push you, that will motivate you to get to where you need to be. More you train yourself to listen to it, you will see great changes in your life, only for the better, and you will reach all your dreams.

Remember that this voice is not ONLY for your personal gratification. This voice will also require you to do things that might not be the best for you at that specific moment that this voice might require you to do good and kind things for people around you, which sometimes might intervene on your primary goal for that moment. If you fail to follow that voice, it won't come to you and tell you that you are a failure. IT doesn't work that way. If you have hurt someone in the past, it will probably suggest that you go and apologize at that moment, even though it is not scheduled to do so at that moment. That voice will point you towards the right direction. Remember, it is not about acting on large projects, just do small steps towards that direction. When we look at the big pictures, we get overwhelmed with everything that we need to do to reach that goal. Never sell yourself short on any of your plans. We all have a mission in this planet, and remember, Rome wasn't built in ONE day, neither FACEBOOK. Take the time to get to where you need to be, ONE step at a time.
