Garmin Nuvi 3790LMT 4.3-Inch Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator

February 08, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 163

The Garmin Nüvi 3790LMT 4.3-Inch Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator is a reasonably priced buy in the hotly contested mid-range navigation market. Indeed, it has features that other manufacturers are only beginning to include in their products such as lifetime map updates, along with lifetime traffic trending updates. Further, since it is a Bluetooth device one can not only pair up to 12 devices with the Garmin and use them, but one can use the main device not only to handle incoming and outgoing calls. The same technology allows you to control the Garmin.

Preloaded with US, Canadian and Mexican maps, the Garmin is obviously loaded for the North American market, however, one should be able to update the maps with those of the parts of the world where you will be traveling.

The 3790LMT features multi-touch screen technology so you can not only find out which may be the shortest route in terms of traffic trends, as well as other trends which may offer scenic sites. Or, you may also be able to download the latest restaurant specials, taking advantage of special restaurants with specials along the way which may help out if traffic is really slow.

A small device, the 3790LMT is 4.8"W x 2.9"H x.35"D and weighs 4 ounces. It can be easily handled by a windshield-mounted carrier. It is powered by a lithium-ion battery and, depending on the rate of information, it should be good for anywhere from about 4.5 to six hours.

The Garmin 3790LMT is loaded with features that were once the province of high-end mapping devices. For example, the nuRoute feature "listens" to the latest traffic reports and computes the best route to a site. Once you get close to the site, the screen changes to a 3D view that shows not only the lane you must be in, but also the buildings that you must travel by are also presented in high resolution 3D mode.

If you need to change a setting, the 3790LMT allows you to use its voice-command technology to change lane routing so you can find the quickest exit from the Interstate.

One interesting feature that Garmin has built into the 3790LMT is its it "MyTrends," capability. With this feature activated, your Garmin begins to store little lane changes that you like to make, as well as turns that you might use all of the time and over time these become the routes that are offered for you.

The Garmin 3790LMT is nicely designed, rugged real-time navigation system that should easily keep you on the right path to the driveway you are seeking. It is a system that offers you lifetime upgrades that are simply downloaded four times a year.
