Over The Top Golf Swing - Learn the Perfect Connection Golf Swing

February 20, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 118

Having an over the top golf swing develops numerous problems with your body and where the ball is going to land in the end of the shot. There are different types of golf swings golfers use to make sure they have a good game. Without knowing the differences between these types of swings you would not become a professional golfer. The towel, the basket, and the look back are the three easiest ways to cure your over the top golf swing. You may not get it the first couple of times you try it but with practice and a little determination it will start to come and then it will become second nature to you when you set up to a golf ball.

Mechanics of An Over the Top Golf Swing Over the top golf swing makes the ball go from left to right. Golfers call this a slice when the ball does this action. One way to fix that problem is to always make sure your right elbow is going into your right side and staying there all the way down through

Towel or Headcover Another tip to cure your over the top golf swing would be to get a small towel or your headcover and put it under your left armpit and try to hit a golf ball with that towel or headcover under your armpit. The towel or headcover helps you with keeping your arms close to your body as much as possible and it won't allow you to do your regular swing.

Golf Range Basket You can put the golf range basket 2-3 feet directly behind your ball that your are going to hit and make sure to go inside of the basket and not hit it while hitting the ball. This will teach you to always start inside and not outside. When you are up at the ball and when you start your takeaway it may look as though you're starting inside, but in reality most golfers have a tendency to start the takeaway outside. This in turn will develop the over the top golf swing. With the basket it won't allow you to start your takeaway outside.

Look Back Motion Last but not least the look back. This exercise doesn't have anything to do with the iron but more with your body motion. When golfers are having trouble with their swing it's because they don't stay in one spot, they sway back and forth. To stop that motion, you would first set up to the ball without the iron. Like a golf stance, then picture another person standing behind you and they are throwing a ball at you to catch. Keeping your stance in the same position turn your body to catch the ball and mimic that same motion while swinging the golf club.
