7 Tips to Get Started In Forum Marketing

April 04, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 163

Forum Marketing is a business technique that many use to interact with their niche audience directly from forums about your niche. Today, there are forums almost about any topic or niche you are in. A very popular one for Internet Marketing is called "Warrior Forum". Here in these forums you can find a very huge community of people asking questions and giving answers participating in this vast community. There are also people that are interested in the same topic or niche you are in, making it a very good place to start communicating and giving helpful advices to the members of the forum. Forums are also a great place to find useful information about your niche, and to interact with your target market.

If you don't know how exactly you can start using these forums I have made these 7 tips to get started in forum marketing....

1. Know which forum you best "fit in"

Finding the forum you best belong to can be a rather simple task, with the internet being full with almost any topic you are interested in. Look for forums where people are actively asking questions on, a place you know has the most need for advice. You will want to see if the forum has about 15,000 to 100,000 members. Make sure that the forum you choose gets 5-10 post everyday, also check the rules of the forum. Check whether or not you can add your signature, picture/avatar/logo, check if you can send messages to other members in the form sending them direct messages, these are very important to have when signing up to a forum others are not as important.

2. Pick a forum and become a member

Once you have narrowed down which forum you are going to use with the information I have provided above choose the one that is best suited to you. "The faster the better" once you have chosen the forum you CREATE AN ACCOUNT at that forum. People in forums usually like to take advice from experts in your field, making them tend to check your profile or stuff like that to see when you entered the forum. If they see you are just a beginner they won't be as likely to want to take advice from you. Start low, introduce yourself and make regular post every day so people start trusting you. Once you are in the registration process add your first and last name for your username this makes it so that people can see your name when you are posting making it much more easier for you to build a strong presence.

3. Customize your profile

When customizing your forum profile make sure to make it as interesting as possible. Usually people add pictures of themselves, their family, and business related pictures like logos. Be unique and personal, include information about yourself like what kind of sports you are in, movies you like, stuff like that. This information lets others connect with you letting them know you are a real person. I would not suggest that you add your Email address because people like to spam a lot and are looking for people who have Emails so they can send you information about their product and services, and can get pretty annoying. Add website information as well so people can see them and probably go check it out.

4. Start Low

Once you have created your profile information search for threads were it usually says "newbie" so you start introducing yourself as a member of the forum. People are mostly very generous and will be willing to help you if you have any questions. Ask questions and Give Answers, this is the main reason why forums were created in the first place so you can build a community in which members can share ideas and help each other. Once you know you have gained experience start posting answers everywhere you can so members within the forum see you as an expert.

5. Add Value

Adding useful information that applies to the questions members ask is vital. Members are actively in the forum constantly looking for answers they need, providing them with that information in advance will make people feel very special and are going to love you making them trust you 100%. This is a big plus when wanting to build your authority and presence.

6. Add your website address to your signature

These signatures are located on each post you make at the very bottom which includes your name, most people like to add quotes to their signatures so they look more interesting and arousing. Most people however forget to add their website, HUGE MISTAKE. Forums have an almost unlimited source of traffic that is why we have to add our website. You might be surprised how many people visit your site.

7. Create a special offer

Creating a special offer can be one of the best things to do once you have the trust of your fellow forum members. With the amount of traffic within the forums it is nearly impossible for members to not see your offers.
