Charter Fishing Boat Tips

Firstly let me say if you are new to fishing and consistently want to catch fish then in general you will be far better off fishing from a boat than you will from the shore. If you decide to start fishing from the shore it can be a very hard learning curve just to learn what marks to fish at and when they are best to fish at e.g. after a storm, on the ebb time etc.

Whereas with boat fishing you can always be certain that you will be able to fish the same wrecks time and again and be sure they are teaming with fish. Whilst you may have to pay for the privilege you will find that the reward of catching something virtually every time you go out is worth the price.

Also it virtually goes without saying that fish caught from boats are bigger and heavier than those caught from the shore regardless of where you are in the World. This means that you are more likely to catch fish of a size that you can eat (Note: minimum fish sizes apply to all types of fish, catch one that is legally too small and you have to return it to the sea), not only that bigger fish offer more sport, as they fight harder and are thus more rewarding to land.

The mobility that a charter fishing boat offers should not be overlooked as if one wreck is not "hot" for fishing on then the captain will easily be able to move on to another. Whilst they are often in competition with each other skippers will also share information on what is fishing well.

If you are a keen shore fisherman and thinking of buying your own boat then going on several charter fishing trips and plugging the skipper for a lot of information (so long as you say you are thinking of buying your own boat) can help you to decide as to whether buying your own boat is the right thing for you. Often as not the running costs of owning your own boat could pay for you to go out on a days charter fishing trip every weekend, and you would do so in the knowledge that you will benefit from the skippers knowledge, whereas learning your own way around local wrecks and fishing marks may take some time.

In addition you will learn a lot about using the right rigs and baits by going on a charter fishing boat.

So if you like the sound of going out on Charter Fishing Boats then why not search my Fishing Directory to find one near you.
