Where Is My Father?

March 06, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 144

Why I wrote this article: The actions of a little boy forced me to write this article. The little boy cannot be more than two years old but he was the most aggressive child I have ever met. He grabbed the toy of another child and refused to return it until that child's mother took it from him with difficulty. Then he was abusive and very quarrelsome.

What about his daddy? I could not believe that a child as little as he was could be so aggressive. I asked the man sitting beside me why the child was so aggressive? The man said it was because his daddy was too busy to look into his son's problems. The child's mother was doing her best but she was trying to raise a son in a neighborhood that was filled with little boys whose fathers were rarely around.

I was told that the child's father leaves the house before Six o'clock in the morning and comes home as late as Eleven o'clock in the evening. The child's father has little or no time for his family. He is not noticing that his little boy is getting out of hand.

Fathers are failing their children. I believe that fathers in the world we live in are failing their sons woefully. They are so concerned about providing food and shelter for their families that they are losing sight of the critical job God gave to them.

God's instruction to the first father was to tend and keep the garden. The garden represents the family which is the key responsibility of every father. A man who fails to attend to his children's needs to make sure that they turn out to be good men and women has failed in his core duty on earth.

What about the mothers? Mothers are doing their best but I have come to realise from my little son that every little child especially if he is a boy needs a father figure in his life. My son is also two years old like the boy I described earlier. One day, I noticed that he would refuse to do some of the things his mother told him to do no matter how much she threatened or scolded him.

If I ask him to do those same things, he will immediately do whatever it is that he has been asked to do. I found out that it had nothing to do with who was tougher with him. Something on the inside of him just tells him who to obey immediately and whose authority to challenge.

Imagine who my little boy will turn out to be if I am not there to ensure that he obeys his mother or that he does the chores assigned to him?

As a father, always remember that you will be judged at the end of the day by who your children become when they grow up. Start now to guide them with your fatherly instructions.

All fathers readings this article, must rise up to their responsibilities. Make sure that the little boy growing up under your wings is not left without the overhanging shadow of a father figure.

It is better not to provide food and clothing for your children than for your not to provide fatherly guidance to them.

I teach business principles based on the steps Jesus used to create a mega empire called Christianity.
