Tips On Vision Improvement - Learn How To Relax Your Eye Muscles

How many times a day do you actually think about your eyes and the muscles that make them work correctly? If you are like most people, the answer is never.

The majority of people don't realize that the eyes are controlled by thousands of extremely tiny muscles. The job of this muscle group is to make certain that the eyes maintain their correct shape and focus.

Throughout the day the eyes are constantly moving to stay in focus, the movement is up and down and side to side. All of this is controlled by the muscles.

All muscles in the body will weaken over time if they are not exercised and taken of properly. Most people begin to wear glasses or contacts because of the weakening of the muscles and their inability to continually change the shape of the eyes.

The majority of vision problems are due to mental strain and excess stress on your eyes. One of the best things you can do to make sure you don't need to wear glasses, is to learn how to relax your eyes and their muscles.

Learning to relax your eyes is nowhere near as difficult as it sounds. Just by following a few simple techniques you can eliminate stress, strain and weakening of your eye muscles. This will definitely help to improve your eyesight.

Technique 1

When you are getting uptight because of work, other people or a bad situation, look at something that pleases you or has pleasant memories for you.

At work you can have family photos, vacation pictures or beautiful landscape pictures on your desk.

Close your eyes for a few seconds, take a few deep slow breaths, open your eyes and then concentrate on the pictures to help relieve the stress. If necessary, do this a number of times until you have calmed down and you feel relaxed.

Technique 2

You can use this technique if you are at home or in a place where you can lay down for a few minutes.

Run your sink water until it is quite hot but not so hot that it will burn you. Soak a face cloth in the warm water, lay down and place the warm cloth over your eyes.

Concentrate on thinking of pleasant things such as people, places, or things that bring you joy.

Thinking pleasant thoughts and using the warm cloth helps relax your eyes, which in turn will allow them to become softer. The softness enables the eyes to go back into their sockets, thereby eliminating stress and strain.

Technique 3

Hold your head level and stationary, look to the right as far as possible without straining then look as far to the left as you can without straining. Repeat this movement 10 times making sure that you actually see the objects that you are looking at when you are at the extreme ends of the movement.

Practice these techniques for a few minutes at varying times during the day. It doesn't take very long to do any of them but the benefits of improved vision can be huge. You should be more energized, your focus should be clearer and hopefully you will be ready to continue your day in a more positive manner.

As we age, the lens of our eyes begin to harden and this makes the surrounding muscles work harder. If those muscles aren't exercised and are weakened by continued stress and strain, your vision will begin to deteriorate. Take the time to do a few eye exercises and relaxation techniques and you will be on your way to better and clearer eyesight.
