3 Tips To Improve Your Vision When Working On A Computer Or Other Electronic Devices

Are you one of the many employees whose job requires them to spend endless hours in front of a computer screen? Or are you a gamer who spends hours at their gaming console?

Have you noticed that after a few hours you are feeling, irritable, tired or you have a pain in your eyes or head.

In today's electronic society these symptoms are very common.

I used to get headaches so bad that I could hardly stand to open my eyes. Each day that I was in front of my computer made me wish that I was in a different job that had no electronics.

When I thought I couldn't continue in my job, I decided to do some research to see how I could cope with the day to day use of computers.

What I found out was not brain surgery, but a more common sense approach to the problem.

Tip 1 Look up and around

Every 15 minutes you should look up from the computer and focus on an object about 20 feet away. Without moving your head look to the right as far as possible without straining and focus on another object about 20 feet in that direction. Then look to the left as far as possible and focus on another object 20 feet away. Do this 5 times in each direction. This will give your eyes the break they need and start blood flowing again.

Tip 2 Quit before it hurts

By the time you feel your head ache or your eyes burning, it is already too late. You need to take a break from your computer or game at least once every half hour. Get up, walk around, turn your head from left to right and from up to down. Get that blood flowing again and allow your muscles to relax. Your eyes need to change focus from what is close and in front to what is far and at least 20 feet away.

Tip 3 Blink then blink again

Your eyes will become dry and irritated if you don't blink often to keep them lubricated. Close your eyes tight then open them as far as you can, close again and repeat the process 15 times. Give your eyes a break, keep them moist and moving. If your eyes dry out, it will fell like you have sand or gravel under your eyelids. You will continually rub them to try and clean them but all you will be doing is making the matter worse. Blinking will make your eyes feel better and will help to keep your vision clear.

Just because you sit in front of a computer screen or a gaming counsel all day or all evening doesn't mean that you can neglect your eyes. You need to take care of them by taking breaks, not stressing them and most of all not looking at one spot for hours on end.

You need to remember that without your eyes you are continually in the dark and the world you enjoy now will be totally gone forever.
