Snowboard Wrist Guards - An Important Accessory for Snowboard Protection

What is the purpose of using snowboard wrist guards? It is used to protect your wrist against injuries while snowboarding. This is what an average snowboarder knows about the usage of wrist guards. However, it has many other uses in addition to the one mentioned above.

If you are a novice user, you are probably still learning to snowboard. You are more likely to have crashes and you may also face a number of slams while you place your palms at different places to stop yourself. All this means, a greater risk of fall where you are putting your hands and wrists in danger. And this is exactly where the wrist guards are most-needed. Strong plastic and foam protection inside the guards protect your wrist from injuries. Although wearing wrist protector is not a sure-shot formula to protect you every time, but it increases the probability of your wrist protection in general. Its use is very important considering that wrist break is one of the most common injuries faced while snowboarding.

The best thing about wrist guards is that they are one of the cheapest snowboard protection gears available. There is no excuse why you should not add one to your selection of items for snowboard protection. Remember, if you sprain your wrist while snowboarding, it will become difficult for you to continue playing the sport. There is a large probability that you will give-up snowboarding either due to fear or simply because your wrists do not support you in doing that.

So, once you have decided to buy them, the next thing is to decide the type of wrist guards you should buy. Basically, you have under-glove, over-glove, and built-in types available. Under-glove is the type of wrist guards that you can strap-on and then wear gloves over it. You can use them with virtually any glove. However, if you want to wear the under-glove guards over your gloves, they may not fit as they are really tight. Over-glove types are comparatively loose and you can wear them over your gloves. The built-in snowboard wrist guard comes with gloves attached with it. Although, it limits your selection of gloves, it is the most hassle-free type and avoids any compatibility issues between the guards and the gloves.

Snowboard wrist guards are definitely an important equipment of snowboard protection for new-bies and beginners due to the frequency of falls they encounter. However, as you learn the intricacies of the game, it is still a good option to keep on wearing them to add an additional edge to your snowboard protection.
