How To Protect Yourself From Radiation Poisoning

February 23, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 163

Last year Japan had another nuclear outbreak when an earthquake hit its biggest nuclear power plant. As a result, thousands of people were affected by radiation poisoning. However, this is just a start. The radiation will not stick to Japan alone. The trade winds will carry it across the globe to many countries. This means that you must gear up in order to protect yourself from the harmful effects of radiation.

Radiation poisoning should never be taken lightly even though it is very little. This is because a little amount of it is capable of altering your DNA structure, trigger the various types of cancers and release oxidizing radicals in our body that will severely damage the insides of any healthy person. The worst sufferers of this poisoning are children, pregnant mothers and their foetus.

If you want to protect yourself from it then you must know the poisoning symptoms. Getting familiar with the symptoms would help you protect yourself better and would enable you to take the necessary steps required once you know that you have been exposed to radiation.

The radiation poisoning symptoms can be divided into two categories the minor symptoms and the major symptoms. The minor symptoms take effect immediately or within a few hours while the major symptoms take a few days to few weeks to appear. How quickly these symptoms appear tells us about the amount of poisoning that you have; the greater is the amount of poisoning, the quicker the symptoms will appear.

One important thing about the symptoms is that once you have the minor symptoms, there will be a brief period when you will have no symptoms at all. After this period, the major symptoms will kick in and your health will start deteriorating. The minor symptoms include vomiting, nausea, fever and headache and the major symptoms are hair loss, weakness, fatigue, bloody vomits, poor wound healing, stool problems, low blood pressure and bleeding from nose and mouth.

Protecting yourself from radiation poisoning is not an expensive or a tedious task. Anyone with proper knowledge can do that. There are three steps involved in this, first is chelation, i.e. the binding and removal of radioactive metals and toxins. This is the most important of the three. The next step is encouraging the natural detoxification of the body. The third and final step involves taking antioxidants that will hunt and remove free radicals from the body.

Chelation can be done by taking supplements for it. A few examples of chelating agents are Chlorella, Laminaria, Modified citrus pectin and Zeolite. These help remove the radioactive metals and toxins from the body by binding them together and then discharging them. Metallothienein is your body's natural chelating agent.

The body's natural detoxification can be encouraged by taking supplements for Glutathothione, N-acetylcysteine, milk thistle, and/or humulus. In addition, L-glutamine, probiotics and prebiotics can be taken to help the intestine remove toxins from the body. Finally, antioxidants can be taken from fruits vegetables and supplements of vitamin C, CoQ10, grape extracts etc. All these products can be easily purchased from the health food stores.

Emma L. has been researching the radiation for many years. She is trying to protect us against radiation with unconventional methods even against radiation poisoning. We all know that radiation poisoning symptoms can be really horrible if we are not protected against it.
