We Must Conserve Energy - Why Is There Some Sort of Shortage in the Universe?

April 19, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 132

When you are in business you realize that you can only cut so much on the expense side of the P and L Statement (profit and loss statement) and at some point if you want to remain profitable, you have to start increasing revenue. Well, sometimes I feel as if our energy policy in the US negates this reality and we just hear too much about how we are all "bad" for using energy - we aren't. Okay so let's talk shall we?

Not long ago, a gentleman acquaintance was "taken aback" by my comment that I didn't feel it was all that important to conserve energy, from an intellectual standpoint that is. You see, there is plenty of energy in the Universe, philosophically speaking it's ridiculous to want to lessen the energy of the system. Now then, finding new ways to convert that energy for human consumption makes sense, curtailing our energy usage is silly, we should find the most efficient method of conversion.

Right now we are using methods which are pretty efficient considering current technology, as fossil fuels are packed with energy, and releasing that energy is quite easy, and human engineers are very good at it. Indeed, we shouldn't switch energy sources, or move from fossil fuels until we have a suitable and reliable replacement; we don't.

Once we do the free-market will bring it to fruition, not through academia, government sponsored subsidies, or indoctrinated "change agents" hoping for magic. The "alternative energy future" and "global warming theory" doesn't need to be made a religion, as it is as equally silly as other religions. It is interesting that in other religions "darkness is evil" and yet if we all conserve energy to such a degree that we had no power at all, where would we be then? In the dark!

Look, we have an abundance of energy in the Universe, no shortage whatsoever. Some might say that energy conservation is beautiful, and maybe it is, but we need it for our society and civilization, so rather than cutting out all the energy, why not start using our genius to bring forth new abundant energy sources which are less expensive, abundant, and reliable then we don't have to conserve or curtail our lives for such a new alternative energy religion.

After all, this new religion does nothing more than promise us a bright future, by turning out the lights? Perhaps, it's time that everyone woke up from the indoctrination tactics being used against our pursuits of happiness and abundant and cheap energy. Please consider all this and think on it.
