How to Never Regret Anything Ever Again

July 04, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 205

One of the worst feelings in life is when one feels regret. You did or said something that was not meant and the feeling inside is clear that you regretted it immediately after it was done. It is strange how it all comes about. At times it seems as if we have no control over it. It is as if we are outside of our bodies and are watching it in slow motion and it is plain as day that it was a moment of weakness on our part.

It is brought to our awareness also when we run into someone from our past that we may have not treated well. It also happens, at least to me, when I watch movies or read books where someone is not being treated well.

So how do we stop feeling regret? Well there is an easier answer than you think. The answer is simple yet it can be very difficult to do.

Answer:

Always do your Best

Huh? What the heck does that mean? Well think about it, if you are always doing your best how could you have changed the situation or the way that you treated someone? When you do your best you rid yourself from judgment from yourself and from others. Now I am not saying that other people will not judge you but if you are sure that at that very moment you did everything possible, then you couldn't have changed anything. This gives you that inner peace of knowing, and it frees you from the opinions of others because you know you could not have given anymore. Whenever you have a question about anything you did during that day you will know that you did the right thing, and if not, then make that mental note for next time so you change your pattern and do the maximum and not the minimum.

Now there is something that I need to share with about this idea. Your best is always going to change. You are a human being and your body, the chemistry in your body, your attitude, and your emotions are always changing. The situations that are brought to you each day change too. The weather is always changing and the people around you are always changing so you cannot expect that each day your best will be at the same level. We always have highs and lows in our lives but the fact still remains that if you do your best no matter what the circumstances are... you will go to bed with no regret.

When you start to implementing this idea of doing your best, do not get frustrated if you slip up here and there. Take it one situation at a time, one person at a time. It is a building process and what you really are doing is building a life long habit. So just go with the flow, do your best at... well, doing your best. With time you will be amazed at your life and the freedom you created for yourself with this action.

When you do your best you free yourself from regretting anything ever again.
