One Compelling Reason To Favour This Method Over Hypnotherapy

I love hypnotherapy as a relaxing and helping treatment, and I do enjoy it. Hypnosis is one of the first therapies that I tried all those years back when I was very ill, and it did help me, for which I am eternally grateful. But like many hypnotists, I have found even more effective methods, which I use instead of, during, or as well as, the hypnosis. With this in mind, this is what I wrote when unable to help a client recently (who has also kindly given permission that others benefit from her story). I hope it helps you or someone you care for.

I turned my phone on in case she needed to call me. The appointment time came and went, with no sign of her. Thinking maybe the security guard downstairs was new and did not know I took evening appointments, I went downstairs to tell him. But it was the usual guard, who knows that I see clients late.

So I went back up to my office. I checked my emails. There was an email from my client. Her parent was supposed to be giving her a lift to attend her session and at the last moment decided not to, because it was in the early evening. And my client was then helpless to have her session yet still suffering the deep emotional pain she was scheduled to get help with.

It saddened me, because she seemed to be so eager to get help, but she only knew about a passive technique that requires her physical attendance. And this is especially frustrating with the knowledge that there is a much better active technique that she could have done over the phone or internet with me from her home. If instead of opting for hypnosis, this client had chosen EFT, she could have been over her problem already. Instead, this is a week later, and she has lost her nerve. I doubt if she will ever see me. Sadly, I do not think she will have the courage to look at something other than hypnosis either.

If you want hypnosis but travel is problematic, I highly recommend that you choose EFT instead. EFT is short for Emotional Freedom Techniques, and works by stimulating special acupressure points whilst using specific releasing wording. It can easily be self-applied whilst totally awake, and most clients choose an EFT practitioner they gel with rather than the nearest, as it is often carried out over the phone or internet, such as on Skype. If you can just stretch your imagination and trust that there is healing beyond hypnosis, you can be pleasantly surprised.
