Is Your Manufacturing Business Recycling Plastic Yet

April 25, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 184

If you have a manufacturing business that is not recycling plastic yet then you are contributing to the global waste problem more than you know.

The more companies start recycling, the less of a problem waste is going to be, so if you have not started yet you should try to do so as soon as possible. You are probably not aware of how important plastic recycling is, and how much of a difference recycling one ton of plastic material makes when it comes to energy, water, oil, and harmful emissions to the atmosphere.

Plastic recycling should be a priority for any company, as it will contribute to the local community and will inspire other companies to follow suit. Plastic waste is a huge problem everywhere, and it needs to be solved as quickly as possible.

You can make a difference by recycling plastic, and we are going to offer you information on some of the advantages this brings. First of all, as you probably already know, creating new plastic materials greatly harms the environment. The more material can be recycled and reused to create new materials, the less harmful emissions are created and the less damage to the environment.

All companies should strive to be as eco-friendly as possible, and your business should be no exception. There is a high chance that a large quantity of the waste your business is producing can be recycled. Since everything from paper to plastic and aluminum can be recycled, you first need to analyse the waste your company is producing, and then give instructions to have it sorted for easier recycling later.

It should be noted that this should not delay the manufacturing process in any way, as it is simply related to the waste that remains after the manufacturing is done. No large investment is required either, as your company will not have to do the actual recycling. All it needs to do is sort the materials and place them in the right containers, and a recycling company will come and pick up the waste once or twice a month, depending on the agreement.

It may seem like more trouble than it is worth, but as mentioned above, recycling helps with numerous things.

Besides eliminating harmful emissions, we also mentioned the fact that recycling helps save energy, water and oil.

For example, for just one ton of plastic that is recycled, the energy consumption of two people for an entire year is saved. Also, close to two thousand pounds of oil is saved by recycling one ton of plastic. That is right, the oil that is used for petrol is recycled from plastic materials, and as you probably well know, oil is a limited resource.

If two thousand pounds of oil are saved from a single ton of plastic, then just imagine how much oil your business could save if it recycles all the plastic waste it produces. All recycling companies also pay for the waste they collect, so the expenses of sorting all the waste into the right categories may be insignificant. Besides that, just think of all the good you will be doing and how much you will be helping the environment.

Finally, there is one last thing that you should consider, if you really want to help the environment and help save energy and precious resources. You should consider reusing things such as bottles, cans, or anything else that can be reused, instead of recycling them. This completely eliminates the need for recycling and the energy plus materials wasted on that, but it does not work with too many items.

Have a talk with local plastic recycling companies and see what options they offer and if they suit your needs. You can not only get rid of the plastic waste your business is producing, but you can also help save numerous resources.

Even if recycling plastic is not currently a priority for you and your business, it should become one in the near future, because companies that play an active role in recycling are well viewed by customers and the general public alike, and there is no denying the fact that the popularity of such a company benefits from recycling as well.

Chris Coxon writes articles for Merritt Plastics who have been at the forefront of recycling plastic for 15 years. They have made strong links with local authorities, waste management and fabricators by taking their plastic waste and reusing it to avoid non biodegradable PVC-U reaching landfill. Committed to environmental innovation, they are willing to pick up any unwanted plastic recycling direct from a business and will pay market rates for your waste.
