From Drug Seeking to Drug Liberated

April 20, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 194

Addiction doesn't happen overnight. What happens is a person is introduced to a substance and likes the effects it produces in them. At first their use may be recreational, but over time they become dependent on it. As they turn more and more to drug seeking, behavior problems stemming from it infiltrate every aspect of their lives. The sooner a problem is identified and treated the better and the best way to recover from an addiction is with the help of long-term drug rehabs.

Why Longer Means More Successful

Recovery won't happen in a flash, just like becoming an addict didn't. Twenty-eight day rehabs are a drop in the bucket compared to the average length of time a person has used. Just as a person is starting to feel better they are shown the door. A longer stay treatment regimen allows the foundation of recovery to be firmly built into a person's well-being.

Secular rehabs are the most effective option. Religion is not used as therapy. Instead, modern treatment methods with the use of cognitive behavioral therapy are applied. A person learns their own power through becoming emotionally self-sufficient. This results in increased self-esteem and self-confidence with a decreased interest in substance abuse.

This counseling is frequently coupled with non-drugging detox methods. The physical component includes medical saunas, light exercise, specialized supplements, and proper nutrition. The addict's system is cleansed of all toxins down to the cellular level. This results in lower rates of relapse because the individual does not experience physical cravings. They leave the facility refreshed and feeling better than they have in years.

How to Pay for Rehab

It can weigh heavily on the mind of how to come up with the money to fund a rehab. Quality long-term drug rehab programs can cost anywhere from $7,000 to $12,000 per month; with other centers costing even more. Thirty thousand dollars is the average price to expect to pay for the entire length of a 90 day stay. There is a type of rehab to the meet the needs of every person from state funded to luxury spa-like treatment. Drug abuse doesn't usually leave a person's finances in such great shape, so they may not have the funds for rehab. This is where family and friend support; as well as government assisted programs can help lend aid to getting one's life back on track.

Alternatives exist that can help a person pay for it. An individual is investing in their life with rehab. This should be the most important thing. Addiction counselors are available to talk over the options, especially if insurance coverage is off the table. They can help discuss things like a loan from a family member, or an outside source, as well as, putting the cost of the rehab on a low interest credit card. Getting the help needed is a priority. Don't let money stand in the way of that.
