How To Get Rid Of Ticks - All Natural Repellents For Ticks On Dogs

February 26, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 332

This article is about how to get rid of ticks on dogs safely and effectively.

Dog owners are no strangers to ticks on dogs. You don't even have to venture out on a treacherous hike through wild and woolly mountain forests to find yourself pulling theses pesky critters off your pets... and off of YOU! Removing ticks can be a hassle. Some dogs don't take to their owners picking through their coats, which can make removing ticks a difficult task.

These nasty bugs can be hiding in your own backyard, crawling to the tops of blades of grass and latching onto your pets' fur and your pant legs. Ticks on dogs also carry numerous diseases that can infect BOTH humans and pets, like Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and the notorious Lyme Disease.

Most owners don't realize, though, that spot-on treatments and flea collars aren't the only option to get rid of ticks on dogs!

Spot-on treatments, while effective, are sometimes dangerous for our pets. YOU ARE ESSENTIALLY PUTTING POISON ON YOUR PET WHEN YOU USE THESE PRODUCTS. There are much safer means of removing ticks on dogs. So without further ado, here's how to get rid of ticks naturally:

Essential Oils - Did you know that ticks can be repelled by using therapeutic-grade essential oils? Not only do they smell good, but they make a great addition to your arsenal of tick-repellents when you put them on your pets' collars or coats!Apple Cider Vinegar and Garlic - Garlic has long been added to pet food by conscientious owners to get rid of pesky ticks. It has proven to be very effective even when used by itself! Not only that, but Apple Cider Vinegar, which makes the body more acidic... which is something that ticks do NOT like! Apple Cider Vinegar is also really great for arthritis and muscle pain for your older pets, and is great for skin and coat health!Grain-Free Food - A healthy pet is less likely to be a battleground for parasites, and grain-free food is much healthier for your pet than foods that contain corn, soy, wheat, and rice. If you absolutely must buy a pet food that contains grains, make sure they are whole grains ONLY.

Be aware however that you still must use caution no matter what you choose to use. Although these are all natural remedies and are much safer than spot-on treatments, they are still chemicals.

You can find out more about using ALL-NATURAL treatments by reading "DANGEROUS Chemicals to AVOID", an article that tells you what natural chemicals to stay away from so that you can go about treating your pets effectively.

There's even more information at http://how-to-get-rid-of-ticks.com from what spot-on treatments you can trust to what essential oils are great to use!
