One of the happiest days of your life should be your marriage, and in most cases, it is. However, people often enter into marriage wearing rose colored glasses, thinking everything is going to be blissful and love between each other will continue to grow.

In the beginning, it often seems that way, but as time continues to grind on, reality takes its toll. Suddenly you're blind-sided by your spouse when they inform you they want a divorce!

However things transpired to bring your relationship to this point is not on your mind at the moment, right now, all you would like to find out is how-to stop divorce. In many cases, things can be patched up between you both, but it may not be easy.

Stopping a divorce will depend largely on if you can talk your spouse into giving the marriage another go, right? You think this is common sense.

This approach, however, is a problem.

At this point your spouse has already made the decision that they want a divorce, and by you constantly badgering them to stay together, will push them away from you. Which is counter productive to your intention.

Luckily, there is a better course of action.

To start off with, you'll have to accept the fact that your spouse wants a divorce. Denial of this fact is futile, and pretending the marriage will mend itself is not a smart way to handle the situation.

Keep yourself calm and gently let them know that things may not be going that well in the relationship, but you don't want to get divorced. Listen to their side of things and try to gain an understanding of how they view the relationship.

Anger about whats happening will be of no help, so don't express it and refrain from trying to manipulate them using your emotions.

Your objective at this juncture is simple to open the door for discussion with them.

You don't want to come across as trying to convince them of anything. Trying to convince them will only make them see that the only thing you're trying to do is stop the divorce.

Stopping the divorce, is what your really trying to do, but, trying to convince your spouse is only going to make them much more stubborn about getting a divorce because they feel you're trying to manipulate them.

Keep your focus on trying to see your spouse's point of view in this situation.

Once you gain an understanding on the reasons they're wanting a divorce, simply agree with your spouse. That is correct, I said agree with them.

Agreeing with them will get them to lower their guard a bit and put them at ease, and demonstrates to them your taking their concerns seriously.

You just got your foot in the door!

If by agreeing with them, you didn't get your foot in the door, okay, you still have a few options open to you.

Assuming the divorce papers haven't been filed, you have increased the odds in your favor of stopping the divorce. After you've had a talk with your spouse about the matter, allow them some time to mull things over in their mind.

You don't want to be pushy at this point and continually ask them if they still want to get a divorce from you.

If things still can't be worked out between the two of you, you can suggest a trail separation, if you're comfortable with it.

A trail separation is not always the best solution, but, giving your spouse time alone may help them change their mind about stopping the divorce and saving the marriage.

Don't drive yourself crazy looking for more ways to save your marriage, if you're ready to stop the divorce, all you need to do is a click here now.
