Pain In The Foot

April 12, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 140

Home remedies are a good choice if you have gout because they are readily available in your homes and in local stores. Gout usually starts with a pain in the foot or big toe. If you have gout, you can use the same home remedies that the 'oldies' used years ago. Some people are not aware of these home remedies because they prefer to use the medical prescriptions given by modern doctors but that doesn't mean that the home remedies are no longer effective.

Gout home remedies can be a God send whenever gout strikes. This is especially clear to those of us who have been unfortunate enough to encounter this painful disease. This pain in the foot and other areas of your feet literally takes over your life with recurrent attacks of painful tender and inflamed joints that leave you unable to do most things for yourself. In the course of my frequent visits to the doctor I gathered that gout is caused primarily by formation of uric acid crystals in the blood which build up and eventually get deposited in the patient's joints.

Home remedies for gout are gaining in recognition as the treatment of choice for individuals who happen to be aware of the risks of using prescription drugs. Studies also show that using gout home remedies like herbs (alfalfa and Devil's Claw, among others) and cherry juices benefits the entire well Uric acid is a normal component of blood, resulting from the deterioration of certain components of protein.

Diet and nutrition are the primary means of treating gout naturally. Dietary treatment for gout sufferers is intended to reduce the production of uric acid to normal levels. Cherries, hawthorn berries, blueberries, and other dark red or blue berries are rich sources of compounds that favorably affect collagen metabolism and reduce inflammation of joints. Bioflavonoids found in black cherries have been used to reduce uric acid levels and decrease tissue destruction associated with gout. Gout sufferers could consume half a pound of fresh or unsweetened frozen cherries per day for a period of three to six weeks as a healing protocol.

Foods that are rich in purines include all animal proteins apart from dairy. This includes beef, seafood and poultry. These should be avoided as much as possible because they are considered to be high in protein. The way they trigger a gout attack is instant and since they are complex in breaking down, the effect of the attack is usually so intense. It is also important to keep off these foods so that you do not end up with a chronic gout condition due to continuous attacks.

Foods that are rich in antioxidants are also helpful. This is because such foods neutralize free radicals that cause damage to the joints in your body. Carrots contain beta carotene which is a highly powerful antioxidant. Green Tea is also a rich source of such antioxidants and can help reduce inflammation in your body. There are many other health benefits of green tea. Foods that should be encouraged in the diet as a form of home remedies for gout includes the common apple.

Apples that are prepared and cooked into a preserve are a great way to combat the conditions that often lead to gout attacks. Yes, a simple apple preserve, made without sugar, is a easy and simple step to lessen the build up of uric acid that causes gout. Uric acid forming in the joints, skin, and kidneys, is one of the main reasons gout occurs. The body creates uric acid at the end of chemical processes.

Those who have gout have high levels of uric acid in the blood, more than normal, and this may be due to the fact that the kidneys are not filtering enough out of the body in the urine or because more uric acid is being produced. Usually, the uric acid just remains in the blood however when too much accumulates then needle shaped crystals are formed and settle in the joints, which cause gout attacks.

Cherry juice seems to be the one thing people agree is good to help prevent gout attacks. So drink up and get rid of that pain in the foot.
