Quite a number of people are worried about contracting a common disease. Among the very common (sexually transmitted diseases) STDs, candidas infection or commonly known as yeast infection ranks quite high. Although it isn't a disease that causes very serious negative effects when it is mild, it becomes a very serious issue of concern when it is chronic or when it often re-occurs. This problem can be very unpleasant and quite disturbing especially to your social life because of the uncomfortable feeling it gives and the especially when itching is intense.

There are many other types of yeast infection but it appears the vaginal type appears are the more common type. Many people have the notion that only women get genital yeast infections, but men get them too. Men can get the disease from directly from their infected female partners, and they may be the ones infecting their partners. Although it is more common in women, a good number of men have to deal with this problem. Both men and ladies have 50-50 chance of contracting this socially and psychologically discomforting health problem and interestingly the solution is about the same too. But a good number of times, treatments like topical application creams more easily produces results in men than in women.

Too often many people mistake a 'relief' for a 'cure' when treating this embarrassing problem. They only discover that condition re-occurs soon after they think it has been cured and which is unpleasant to say the least. If you find yourself infected with candidas, you are not alone in your search for a cure. There are natural ways to get a cure. The common treatments are usually in the form of antifungal agent packaged as a cream, tablets or suppositories which are inserted into the body with a special applicator.

Many women with frequent infection eat live culture yogurt to try to treat the problem using a natural method to replenish the healthy vaginal bacteria that could guard against the disease. This is a folk cure that is soundly established in theory. Another home remedy that is quite common is applying apple cider vinegar on a piece of cotton and using it to swipe the infected area.

And so is yeast infection contagious and how do we prevent it?. The truth is that yeast infections can be contagious upon certain conditions. And although more frequently occurs in females, it is transferable especially between sexual partners. Basic hygiene and proper intake of immune building foods like garlic helps a great deal.
