Make Fairy Cakes, Are You Familiar With Fairy Cakes?

May 26, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 215

Are you familiar with fairy cakes? They are small cakes, similar to cupcakes, which can be baked in the same way as a regular cake. With a cupcake phase catching on world-wide, many people have become interested in baking cakes, cupcakes, and fairy cakes, and although baking can be quite a difficult procedure, there are ways to ensure that your fairy cakes come out absolutely delicious with very little effort. So get your pantry ingredients ready, and start learning how to make fluffy, delicious fairy cakes for you, your family, and even your co-workers to enjoy.

The first thing you will need if you are going to be baking a fairy cake, or any kind of cake, is a recipe. With baking, exact measurements are of paramount importance, and putting in even an ounce more or less fluid than the recipe calls for can be disastrous. For that reason, it's important that you take out your measuring spoons, measuring cups, and anything else you can think of to help you follow the amounts of each ingredient to the letter. Substitutions can also be tricky, as any substitution from the original recipe can ruin the texture of the cake, meaning that you should go shopping if you don't have everything that your recipe calls for.

While it's important to stress the necessity to follow the recipe to the letter, it is possible to add various ingredients to slightly change the flavor of the cake, but for the first batch, you should probably stray away from any kind of customization and simply follow the recipe exactly. You may need to make adjustments to both baking temperature and time based on your altitude, as well. Higher altitudes will require a higher temperature and less time, due to the difference of air pressure. It's safe to assume that most recipes will include cooking time for those who live at or near sea level, and anyone living a mile above sea level will need to make some adjustments.

With your recipe in hand and your batter finished, you will need some pans which are shaped the proper way to bake these tiny, delicious fairy cakes. They can be purchased at nearly any store, but great deals can be found online more often than not. Be sure that you put the correct amount of batter into each mold, as, again, the slightest differentiation from the recipe can spell disaster. Place your cakes in the oven, and, when finished, get as creative as you can decorating them. The decoration of a cake can be a great way for you to express yourself to your loved ones, and it's no doubt that they will appreciate every intricacy of your cake design. Make fairy cakes a regular item on your menu, and you can bring a lot of joy and sweetness to the lives of those you love.
