A Tasty Twist on Bundt Cake

February 19, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 183

Not every cake is created equal, and a red velvet cake recipe stands above the rest when it comes to sophistication and decadence in taste. Seeing as red velvet is one of my favorite types of cake, especially when it is prepared properly, it just seemed like a natural fit to adapt red velvet into a Bundt cake. I am very certain that you will enjoy this red velvet Bundt cake recipe as much as I enjoy sharing it (although perhaps not as much as I enjoy eating it!)

Necessary ingredients:

- 1 tbsp cocoa powder

- 3/4 tbsp salt

- 1 tbsp baking soda

- 1 1/4 cups sugar

- 2 1/2 cups flour

- 1 tsp vanilla

- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar

- 1 tbsp red food coloring

- 2 eggs

- 1 cup buttermilk

- 1 1/4 cups vegetable oil

Preparation instructions:

1) You will need to preheat your oven to 350F. This is always a good idea to do this first so that once your cake batter is ready, the oven will be hot enough and nor risk ruining the cake.

2) Grease your Bundt cake pan and apply a light layer of flour on top to avoid sticking.

3) Use a medium-sized mixing bowl to combine the buttermilk, eggs, food coloring, vinegar and vanilla. Mix these all together thoroughly.

4) In a different bowl, mix together all of the dry ingredients: cocoa, salt, baking soda, sugar, and of course, the flour. Add the dry ingredients to the first mixture and mix thoroughly until smooth and free of lumps. Please do not use a hand mixer or beat stiffly.

5) Pour this batter into your greased Bundt pan and bake it for about 45 minutes.

6) Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool on a rack. Remove it from the Bundt pan carefully!

7) You can now add some icing on top. There are many icing recipes available to suit the preferences of anybody.

Remember that the icing should be layered thinly to ensure that cake crust isn't overcome by the flavour of the icing. The more delicate the crust then the thinner the frosting.

That was pretty easy, wasn't it? And mouth-watering, too. Come on and admit it.

A red velvet Bundt cake recipe doesn't have to be difficult to make, and it is such a delicious treat. I have made plenty of cake recipes and this is simply one of my favorites!
