Bike storage products are innovative solution created to solve the problem of falling over and cluttered bikes. One chooses a particular brand based from its durability, weather resistance, appearance and functionality. A bicycle stand or a bicycle lift is usually made from materials like stainless steel, steel, recycled plastic, thermoplastic or combination of these. Each product is unique on its own and has dominance and restriction over the other bike keeping wares. One only needs to determine which one can give him the most advantage. Factors like state regulations and parking environment can also affect which product would be considered.

Saving space that can be used for other purposes is the main objective of bike racks. To accomplish this, most products are mounted to different surfaces. Most stands are planted in the ground. Using this kind can give a bike owner more security from theft since the bike can be locked from the wheels and the body, and placed in a more visible area. There are also bike storage units that are connected with the rails. This type limits the number of mounts as well as save labor cost and materials that will be used in its construction. Wall-mounted bicycle rack, on the other hand, is designed for bikes to be mounted on the wall using bolts. The product conserves floor space and is most useful for long-term storage.

These mounted bike racks are still using floor space, nevertheless. More and more bike owners are resorting to ceiling mounted bike lift since the bike doesn't occupy any floor space. Some of the available ceiling mounted bike storage are those that can be mounted using rails, can be lifted vertically or horizontally, and the motorized bike lift type.

Horizontal bike storage option uses rack where the bikes will be placed and is just attached to durable ropes. Bicycles do not fall over as they are securely placed atop, lying flat in the ceiling. The vertical bike storage option does not use rack but claws and rope instead. Owners who don't want their bikes to be placed flat in the ceiling can use this type as the claws are attached in the seat and handle. The bike will be lifted once the rope is pulled and the bike stays vertically afloat. Bike can also be mounted on a wall with the use of rails attached to wall studs. Unlike the pulley-regulated product that hangs the bike using rope and claws, bikes mounted to rails are more secured since it will not swing sideways. A special type of bike storage is also available in the market. The product lifts the bike with the use of electricity. The product is by far the most expensive yet innovative storage solution available.

Whether planted bike stand or overhead bike lift one only need to choose which one is most economical and beneficial to him as both provides convenience and safety for storing bike.
