How Much Does A Mountain Bike Cost?

June 16, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 339

It is difficult to class mountain bikes into average prices without first determining the level of commitment of the rider and what the rider is looking for in their machine. Mountain biking has long been an enjoyable past time, a fun way to partake in a charity event, an excellent sort of exercise, a great means of commuting, and a phenomenal manner in which to reduce stress. In so saying, there are many factors to be considered when choosing comparatively made and therefore priced bikes.

When considering any bike weight should be at the forefront of your mind and will factor greatly in the price range as a bike is made for traversing hills and rougher terrain, one wants something versatile and lightweight. Whereas a child wanting the look of a bike for riding mainly about the neighborhood and such with friends; a parent or grandparent could do worse in gifting them with one of the department store specials for $150 or less. As this bike is not going to be used for special terrain or hills, neither suspension or weight will be much factor and the child may gain interest in more serious bicycling from such a machine.

The entry-level mountain bike for a beginner would come with a front shock and run you around $600-$700. This bike is a bit heavy for the serious mountain biker that intends upon climbing hills and the like, but there are several models that can not only assist in getting you to the next level in mountain biking, but help build the endurance necessary for longer treks. This level of bike and the one next on the list would be a full suspension entry mountain bike for beginners running $1100-$1200 and the higher end short bike running $1200-$1500. These bikes are all great for the beginning rider, the rider trying to get into better shape, or simply the person looking for a comfortable commuting model. With so many choices in bikes and how best to use them; it's a shame fewer people don't set aside the car keys and take a nice healthy bike ride to and from work.

Every green step forward counts after all.

High end full suspension bikes can range from a beginning price of $1800-$3000 with lightweight design made for treks up and down hills and on rough terrain to the $7000-$15000 custom bike that is measured and fit to you and your needs. When making such a purchase there is much to consider and I have touched only on a few of those points here to condense information to you, but you as a consumer need to look further before purchase.
