What to Expect During a Pacific Cruise

January 04, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 162

Every determined traveller wants to cruise the Pacific. Its islands, nestled in the pristine waters of the Pacific Ocean, are some of the world's most beautiful and exotic natural marvels. If you want to see their magnificence up close, then cruise travel is the way to go.

A typical pacific cruise frequents destinations like Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Hawaii, Polynesia, and a host of other small islands. Each of them has breathtaking tourist attractions and water activities including kayaking, hiking, scuba diving, and snorkelling.

A Pacific cruise will take you to lush tropical islands with unique culture, friendly night-life, and perfect beaches. It promises romance, dramatic scenery and the vacation of a lifetime. What could be more perfect than sitting pretty in the middle of the Pacific Ocean?

A cruise to the Pacific is often associated with luxury and premium services as few cruise lines travel to this area. Those that do are considered to be upscale and focus entirely on providing guests with the ultimate services. Expect to pay higher than normal prices for other cruise deals.

If you plan ahead, you can find reasonable rates and take advantage of big savings, especially if you search online.

Cruises can vary in length depending on the ports of call and the cruise line itself. It also comes with different itineraries-from three-night long weekend-type getaways to the traditional one-week cruise, and even up to 10 and 12 night sailings.

Pacific cruises primarily circle the volcanic islands and coral reefs around Fiji or Tahiti. They normally go to five main islands: Oahu, Hawaii, Maui, Kauai and Molikai. Some tourists are even treated to the spectacular sight of lava flowing from Kilauea volcano into the Pacific Ocean.

Late November and early December are particularly good periods to cruise the Pacific. Fares are a bit lower and the hurricane or rainy season has wind down.

Most visitors are lured to see inspiring sceneries and the opportunity to spot wildlife during summer months. Many agree that the best way to see whales and soaring eagles is from the deck of a cruise ship.

For families, summer vacation and school holiday breaks are popular times to take a Pacific cruise. Fares are highest during these periods, though.

A cruise to the Pacific may include a choice of all-suite accommodation. This provides a spacious living room, dining area, large veranda, a king-size bedroom, walk-in closet, and master bath with Jacuzzi. They may also offer the ocean view cabin which features a state-of-the-art sound system, data port for laptop computers, flat-screen televisions, DVD players in bedroom, living room and bathroom, a cordless phone, and security safe. Expect to be offered Pacific cotton sheets and bath towels, complimentary bathrobes and tropical bath products.

For dining, cruise lines often serve multi-course gourmet meals and complimentary in-stateroom dining. No need to worry if you have dietary preferences because they serve a wide variety of dishes and international cuisine.
