Pakistan Vs England Cricket - Test Series February

February 08, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 257

Cricket fans from the UK and other countries will be heading to the United Arab Emirates this month to see England and Pakistan compete in Test Matches and other events in Dubai's world-leading cricket grounds. Visit the UAE between 17 January and 7 February to catch the sporting action at Dubai International Cricket Stadium and Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, and stick around to enjoy more of what these emirates have to offer.

The upcoming Test series features three Test Matches (17 to 21 January, 25 to 29 January and 3 to 7 February respectively), followed by four One Day Internationals (ODIs) from 13 to 21 February and three T20 matches from 23 to 27 February 2012. The first Test Match begins at midnight sharp, and the bilateral series is predicted to be a fierce and close competition between the two very different teams - England being noted for its versatility and Pakistan for its more mercurial style.

England captain Andrew Strauss recently revealed that England was feeling 'refreshed' and ready to participate in its first Test series since beating India 4-0 in August, reclaiming their position as world leaders in cricket. Pakistan's home games were relocated to the UAE due to security concerns in the team's country, and caused minor controversy by featuring Wahab Riaz, Umar Akmal and Imran Farhat in the squad despite their involvement in the spot-fixing debacle of the 2010 Lord's Test.

The last time England and Pakistan went head-to-head, England achieved a 3-1 victory at Nottingham, The Oval and Lord's, but Strauss predicts a close battle between the sides in 2012 - particularly following Pakistan's successes against New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and their draw in the West Indies.

People taking flights to Dubai and Abu Dhabi from their home countries to see the matches in person can take advantage of a number of promotions and flight deals being organised by groups such as the International Cricket Council (ICC) as well as major flight carriers and tour operators. Dubai is a popular destination for luxury holidays all year round, and the Test series is a great excuse to visit this tourism paradise.

Some of Dubai's most notable features include the towering Burj Al Arab - the world's first seven-star hotel - as well as its man-made islands, such as the Palm Jumeirah. Dubai is also a popular destination for water sports and other outdoor activities, such as camel tours and dune buggy riding.
