Journaling Gives You Insight and Wisdom

February 23, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 106

Once you have developed the habit of sketching and journaling together, you will gain some tremendous insight into who you are, your values, hopes, struggles, and areas of desired growth. By honing in on these areas and understanding yourself you will be able to clearly share some of those aspects with your friends, family, and coworkers. It forces you to be honest with yourself, gain acceptance and understanding of yourself, and speak authentically to others without shame. If you have struggled at work with some tasks and are avoiding and trying to cover up your lack of ability, journaling will allow you to have the self-confidence to speak honestly. Journaling will allow some vulnerability into your life. Your working relationships will become deeper.

As a bonus, you will have a mind shift and slowly begin to understand other people by having heart-to-heart or authentic and honest conversations that go below the surface. Coworkers will begin to feel supported by you as you suspend judgment and develop an attitude of acceptance.

Journaling starts with identifying issues in your current life and then brings you to a place where action is required. The action is to bring peace and balance in your life. By going through the steps you will gain insights into your motives and actions, as well as insights for your next steps. By changing your thoughts and behaviors you will develop a wisdom that is inspired by your authentic self. When you share the benefits of journaling you are also as an offshoot sharing your personal journey with other people.

People will be encouraged by your story and sometimes it is just enough support to launch them on their own personal journey. Journaling will help you to articulate your story and it will help you to remember the process that took place.

When you journal about your daily events and ponder the decisions that you are grappling with in your own personal life, you will find yourself wiser today than you were yesterday. How can you read and write about wisdom and not gain it? It is impossible. Clear answers start to emerge through your writing. When you ask wise questions you are sure to receive wise answers. It doesn't always need to be a new lesson or insight. It could be during a week or a month that you discover the insight more fully with each day. Listen to subtle clues; you might come across other articles that support the lessons, or you might have experiences that reinforce the lesson. However it works in your life, it will be unique to you. Happy journaling and may wisdom unfold quickly and clearly in your life.
