The Fart Without Fear Cookbook

February 19, 2011 | Comments: 0 | Views: 131

The Fart Without Fear Cookbook from authors Wayne Chen and Gary Goss have taken our beloved comfort foods and adjusted the recipes to make the butt bugling far less efficacious! No more heading for an unoccupied room, or standing silent and squeezing the cheeks praying for an uneventful release.

There's no escaping the flatulence. I'm a carnivore of T-Rex proportions and dairy delights me. Most of the time, at the expense of others, I fail to be considerate and indulge leaving behind a wake of toxic gas. Chen and Goss are far more considerate. They take the time to explain Methionine and Cystine (M&C) and amino acids and how they impact our fats. Chemistry has never been so fascinating!

Using a method named "Original Boston Baked Bean Odor Index" Chen and Goss illustrate all the recipes in The Fart Without Fear Cookbook. They take the work seriously and show the recipe in its original form and then in the new reduced fart variation.

The recipes are a home run for me with most of my favorites included: fried chicken, lasagna, chocolate chip cookies, and more. It's little things like location....using avocados from laid back California rather than Florida can drastically help reduce the gas. Grating cheese as needed, rather than taking the lazy man's out and buying those pre-grated bags eliminates the fizgig. Dried Beans over canned beans may take a little longer but it can win you more friends.

It's all about the M&C and with The Fart Without Fear Cookbook, you'll learn

  • Which ingredients will produce the bad aftermaths
  • How to rate, prepare and change the good or bad level of any comfort food, recipe or other favorite cuisine of choice
  • How to amuse and dazzle family, friends and guests with new nutrition and scientific insights
  • To laugh out loud and often
  • To never look at food the same way ever again

The Fart Without Fear Cookbook isn't going to eliminate farts from your life, just the embarrassingly odiferous, eye-tearing, room-clearing, socially acceptable bad ones.

Throughout the book there is humor and fun. On page 43, Chen and Goss list a Turkey Club Sandwich Recipe and on the "Stuff to Do" (directions) they share some fun facts. Like "turkey is no slouch when it comes to popularity, taste and sulfur power. It ranks third behind the chicken and canned tuna." Love it, but then they add,"If a sandwich can rate a Cloud Emeritus, just think what a whole turkey can do. Watch out for Thanksgiving." It steals my heart!
