Xbox 360 E74 System Error - Possible Fixes

December 31, 2011 | Comments: 0 | Views: 187

Two weeks ago, my Xbox 360 experienced the infamous E74 error. I just switched on my console, anticipating a peaceful session of COD, and for some reason the console displayed the system error "E74". Also, the console was flashing one red light around the power button.

My console was beyond warranty, and I did not want to pay Microsoft $100! There are just too many other reliable fixes available out there that are much less than $100. I just wanted to get my Xbox 360 back to working order as quick as possible. I was having withdrawal from not being able to play COD!

I found so many possible fixes on the Internet, from the towel and toothpick trick on YouTube, to professional re-balling.

The towel, toothpick, paperclip trick are all very popular on YouTube, but I found that they can be very harmful to your console. Not to mention, these proclaimed fixes only last a few weeks at most. My friend had a console that kept getting the RROD, and so every time he would perform the towel trick. This process happened every couple of weeks. Finally, after the fourth or fifth time of performing the towel trick, his console just wouldn't power on anymore, and it was rendered useless. Although these quick YouTube fixes may be fast, they can damage your console beyond what damage was already done, and I would highly recommend that you do not attempt any of these type of fixes.

Re-balling consists of sending your console of to a professional who replaces the solder balls between the CPU/GPU and the motherboard. This fix was claimed to be a permanent fix, but after doing some research, I discovered that this may not be the case. Although, re-balling eliminates the chances of the CPU or GPU causing the E74/RROD, there are so many other possible factors that can cause the problems. Re-balling was just not worth the large amount of money to eliminate just a few problem factors, and I would not advise using this fix either.

However, after researching and evaluating my available options, I discovered a fix that sounded like exactly what I was looking for: a professional repair guide. After looking over testimonials, I decided to give it a try for myself.

After paying $30, I gained access to:

- Step by step videos

The videos were well-made, high quality, and easy to follow. The instructions given during the videos were clear and precise, so just about anyone could perform the fix.

- Instant Access

The instant access provided by this E74 fix was probably one of the best aspects. Instead of 6 weeks or more of waiting on Microsoft to fix your console, you can dive right into your fix, and most likely have a working Xbox 360 in an hour or less. Just download the files, and you are set to fix your console.

- Support via email and telephone

Surprisingly, the live support was extremely helpful. I just had a few minor questions, and they provided me with the answer quickly.

Here are the outcomes:

- My Xbox 360 no longer has the E74, or any other problems like the RROD. - The fix only took a little more than an hour. - I saved myself $70 and weeks of not having my console (and not being able to play COD).

I am thoroughly pleased with the outcomes of buying the E74 Fix. I would recommend the fix to anyone whose console has the E74, RROD, or any other common Xbox 360 problem. The ease of performing the fix, cheap price, and lasting fix is hard to argue against. Also, I feel that the best perk of this option is the fact that you have access to a reliable fix anytime down the line. The guide will fix virtually every Xbox 360 problem, so maybe sometime down the line when your console acquires another problem, you have the Swiss Army Knife of Xbox 360 Fixes.
