Xbox 360 - A Great Gift to Give

April 11, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 115

Hello! My name is Betty and I have just left my comfort zone and joined the senior's video gaming fraternity. This has become a necessary learning curve due to having a number of extremely computer and video game orientated grandchildren.

Thankfully, I have been computer literate for many years so I don't have to learn the basics of computer operation but I certainly have needed to become familiar with video gaming and how it operates. Other than some brief encounters, many years ago, my video gaming experience was sadly lacking!

My grandson was quite impressed when visiting my study recently. He said, "Nana, you have a wireless mouse!!!!" to which I replied, "Yes, dear I have had it for quite awhile and it is great". He replied, "that's really cool!" so now I can claim to be a "cool Nana".

I quickly realized that a wireless mouse is a long way from becoming a master of video gaming. But it did gain me some credibility!

This was followed up by grandson 2 who called up to suggest an Xbox 360 20GB package would make a great family gift on my upcoming school holiday visit!

So this started my fact finding mission to find this gift he suggested and more importantly if I could find an Xbox 360 for sale.

It has been an intense but interesting piece of research for me due to the fact that I have had to learn a whole new language!

Like any new enterprise there is often another language to learn. Learning the gaming terms has certainly been a brain drain for but I needed to become conversant and competent to become one of the video gaming generation.

Actually, I do remember when the first play-station was the newest and greatest home entertainment device and I learned to play with my young nephew many years ago. That was not long before the first Macintosh computers became available and computers were no longer the realm of only those who knew DOS language. Suddenly it became WYSIWYG - what you see is what you get - and anyone could use the interface. A total breakthrough for people like myself and now part of computer history!

This was not long before we saw the introduction of the first version of the Xbox 360. It provided great entertainment, not only for the participants, but also for the spectators too!

The different gaming devices and super games available can be confusing for a newcomer. They include online, offline, using a PC or using an Xbox 360, a Nintendo or WII or DVD games, totally foreign terms to begin with. There seems no end to the games people play.

Along with the Xbox there are a number of other video game providers like the Nintendo and the DS consoles. Nintendo has produced the wii console which has proved to be a very popular video gaming console for all ages.

So what I thought was going to be just a small matter of finding out about a few computer and video games has turned out to be a much larger and extremely interesting exercise.

If you are looking for an Xbox 360 for sale then you may be interested to learn a little about its history history. The Xbox 360 was officially released by Microsoft in 2005. This first model completely sold out at the launch and right up to the later part of 2007. Microsoft sold 11.6 million units throughout the world at that time. Not a bad beginning! End of history lesson!

Considering the years that this video gaming system has been popular, and as I followed through the development of the different models, it became evident that Microsoft has continued to update and develop this all time favorite.

The total entertainment packages never looked so inviting. The huge library of games offered for the Xbox 360 provide a great experience for all game skill levels.

The Xbox 360 Core is considered the entry level model and comes bundled with composite video cables and is used for only SDTV resolutions. It may also be used with separately sold hard drives of different sizes.

The Xbox 360 Premium includes all the features of the above Core model with the addition of a detachable 20 GB Hard Disc Drive which is used to store game demos, movie trailers, movies and store game data. It also includes several essential pieces of hardware, a wireless controller, a headset and some countries can may include a prepaid 12 month subscription to Xbox LIVE Gold. This is a very compact and self contained package and includes hardware that normally has to be bought separately.

The Xbox 360 Elite is the third model available and is the most expensive variation of the console. It is unique because it includes HDMI output, a 120GB hard drive. The retail package for this model also includes a HDMI cable and a controller and headset all in the matching black matte finish the same as the console.

Several controllers are part of the essential equipment kit and gaming headsets are also a good idea as some of the games are rather loud with lots of action. If you don't mind the noise then the headsets could come later. Also check out the range of packages available because many of them include these accessories.

Yes, I did find that elusive gift so Click Here to see where I found the Xbox 360 for sale with a number of optional packages. There are great deals available now. Click Here to consider the options available for the Xbox 360. Many include Super Saver shipping as well.
