If you are one of these students looking for a job that will make you good money right out of the college gates, then this list is for you. Some of the highest paying jobs out there are engineer based. In a list of the ten best jobs of 2012 Engineering careers take up 8 of 10 of those majors. If you are a wiz at math then you may want to give engineering a shot. With these salaries you should have no problem paying off those student loans!

Physicists earn nearly $50,000 yearly right out the gate. If you are considering physics major you had better be pretty skilled in the math area as well. Physics degrees are good for students who like to work with their hands and have smart brains. There are many job opportunities in this field, especially teaching. Most jobs in this field require you to have a professional degree in the field, so if you're thinking physics you better be ready for the long haul.


Mathematicians start out with salaries of about $52,000 per year but can expect a salary in the mid $90,000's later in their career. Not too shabby right? Students that are interested in math make good mathematicians. Mathematicians are high in work alongside engineers and physicists and can find many a job in the technology fields.


Like mathematicians computer science majors can expect a salary of about $52,000 to start and a salary of about $90,000 mid career. Computer scientists design and create computer software. Computer scientists are in high demand in the workplace and are highly employable. Many computer scientists are self employed and do mainly free lance work or design and sell their computer applications.


Economics majors start their careers with a salary of $47,000 to $94,000 once they get their careers going. Economists have to learn a lot of math as well as read a lot, so if you find that you are good in those subjects this will be a good field for you.


If you get a career in statistics you will earn a median salary of $49,000 at entry level and $93,000 mid career. Statistics is based on numbers as well. (Have you caught on to the trend? Most high paying degrees require a lot of math.) In statistics you learn how to read numbers and you learn what those numbers say about the world that we live in.

Going to college will exponentially be better for your future, there's no doubt about it. However, not all majors are created equal. Some degrees only require more schooling, while others are regarded highly in their undergraduate levels. It is in your best interest to do your research about the majors out there and the jobs that are connected with them. Make sure that all of the hard work you put in to school will pay off!
