Home Cleaning With a Pressure Washer

June 04, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 215

Most people have discovered the secret of doing more with less labor. A pressure washer is the way to go for most home chores and other cleaning requirements such as car and furniture washing. They have an amazing capability to clean all sorts of things. For moms at home and other cleaners, a pressure washer is a secret tool in your arsenal to make your home look more outstanding in the neighborhood and other passersby. You can rent, borrow or buy the ideal pressure washer for yourself. The secret is getting the right sized machine for your home.

Choosing the best pressure washer should be based on the size of your home. Small electric pressure washers are ideal for you if you have a smaller home with less sidewalk area. A small electric pressure washer is rated at 1600 PSI. They are efficient and can clean concrete steps, small patios and rails very fast. Big electric pressure washers are rated at 2000 PSI and work incredibly well in bigger houses with a large surfaces. This could save you a great deal of labor. Use a large surface scrubber when cleaning a house with a big surface area. This is to help minimize the fatigue that you may encounter if you are inexperienced with pressure washers. Mid-sized machine are rated at 2200 PSI to 3000 PSI and are usually gas powered. They are identical to a lawn mower where you just pull the rip cord and they roar to life.

Make sure you touch the sidewalks, wood decks and driveway when cleaning. Wash under the shutters on your windows. Dirt always finds its way into each nook and cranny. The pressure washer can clean them fast. If your home contains siding, you can alternatively spray the large surface quickly or choose to spend a little time with a detergent soap and ultimately produce a shiny siding. First and foremost, cover the decorations and plants that you may have at the base of your wall. The high pressure from the spray may forcefully eject petals from your garden. For the garden's sake, a simple plastic garbage bag or plastic sheeting could save you from a lot of damage that may occur.

When cleaning your wall at home, make sure you wet the whole wall before applying soap detergents. When applying both water and detergent, make sure you start from the top to bottom to get rid of streaking. Don't let the detergent dry up on the wall. Spray water at a high pressure, again from the top heading downwards. After you clean the shutters, window and sidings, move to the paths, driveway and sidewalks and clean comprehensively. Most pathways and sidewalks accumulate a lot of dust from both the rainfall and the air. Make sure you point the water spray away from homes and gardens so that water and dust find their way out.

Any pressure washer will have a difficult time trying to remove oil and grease from the concrete. You may clean oil from the surface of the concrete but in a week's time, its back. So be prepared to clean an oily and greasy concrete repeatedly, as many as 3-4 times monthly. This will remove a big portion of oil and return it to its original state.
