Geneva - Fun Attractions for the Family

May 31, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 208

Geneva in Switzerland is considered one of the most cities sophisticated in the world. It serves as the base for many world organisations, including the United Nations, the World Health Organisation, the International Aids Society, the World Economic Forum, and CARE. It is also a centre for finance, science, humanitarianism, education, and the arts, among others.

While chock-full of significant historical and cultural attractions, some people may believe the city to be too staid and severe for family holidays, especially for families with young children. They couldn't be more wrong. With its mild summer weather, beautiful scenery, loads of fresh air and sunshine, in addition to its great facilities and low crime rate make this city the perfect one for holidays with small children. In fact, getting around the city with children will be no problem. No worries tiring out their little feet - as you arrive at the Geneva airport, taxi cabs stand ready to help you with your luggage and drive you directly to your hotel or to the city for some sightseeing. Don't worry if you're not sure where to go next from Geneva Airport, taxi drivers will be happy to recommend shouldn't-miss sights and attractions; just tell them what you're in the mood for and they'll be happy to advise.

Listed below are some places that your kids will undoubtedly enjoy during your holiday in the city of peace.

On'Kart

In the mood for something exciting to shake the jet lag? Try karting (or kart-racing). From Geneva Airport, taxi cabs can easily take your family directly to Annemasse, which is merely minutes away. Everyone loves a race, and the On'Kart go-cart racing facility is open to both children and adults. The facility has karting and mini-biking and offers special rates and customised programs for groups. For those who would rather sit back and watch, the facility also has a restaurant and bar.

Aquaparc

Your Geneva Airport taxi driver will probably tell you that the Aquaparc is a must for families - and he's right. This water park has fun rides and attractions for both children and adults, such as indoor and outdoor swimming, water adventure rides, and themed water slides. Thrill-seekers should definitely check out its exciting rides, such Devil's Fall and Morgan's Thrill. Meanwhile, adults can pamper themselves with a massage then a soak in a relaxing hot tub.

La Ferme Foraine Bonaventure

For something low-key and restful, visit La Ferme Foraine Bonaventure, a great attraction for younger children. Here, children can meet and interact with gentle farm animals, such as lambs, donkeys, llamas, and pigs. Your kids are sure to enjoy petting these cute and furry animals and you'll likely have a hard time pulling them away when it's time to head back to your hotel.

Lukas Johannes is a driver for Shuttle Direct. If you're looking for a Geneva airport taxi transfer, Shuttle Direct provide pre-booked shuttles to major destinations all over Europe. Wherever you travel, Shuttle Direct can make sure that you don't miss your car on your holiday abroad.
