Adapting Business to the Change in the Economy

May 29, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 160

Your marketing message will have to change.

Where you market will change.

The person you market to will change.

And how you market will change.

But make no mistake about it, the money is still there, it's just in someone else's bank account.

The magic is what folks are willing to pay for - even in "this economy". Folks will always find a way to pay for what they want. You may have HAD what they WANTED a few years ago, but is it what they want today?

We are facing a lack of work ethic, imagination and action taking - but it's a lot safer to blame the economy. The reason people fail to take action is more likely due to negative self image and negative self talk rather than the economy, or whatever "flavor of the day" excuse they can come up with next.

YOU are in charge of your destiny.

YOU are the captain of your own ship.

YOU can get what you want out of life, your business, and your relationships if you're willing to take personal responsibility and take massive action.

This seems to be the biggest issue when it comes to employee meant because people refuse to embrace technology and understand how it affects the workplace. Instead of looking to get a job with a company, an individual should look to work independently in contract with multiple companies charging them for 10 to 15 hours per week, rather than expecting to earn a salary working for one company for 40 hours a week.

Based on the old economy, someone could work 40 hours per week for 40 years and retire on 40% of their income. This is why many senior citizens struggle financially today and depend on government assistance and food stamps to survive from month-to-month financially.

By learning to think outside of the box when it comes to employment and financial security, people will be able to learn how to generate a income to live comfortably into the future. The problem is that society still encourages people to be dependent on someone else to create a job and financially support them by trading hours for dollars.

In the early part of the 20th century when the United States was just becoming populated by Europeans, many brought their skills and work ethic with them, and started a small business. In the latter part of the 20th century and the early part of the 21stcentury, we have come full circle back to the small businessmen. The only difference is that now instead of this is being done on the streets, it is being done working from home utilizing technology and the Internet to build a business.

You can always find fault with the economy and blame it for your problems or you can retrain yourself and relearn the new way of marketing yourself. When someone wants something they will always find the money to pay for it, therefore, it behooves you to find out your markets hot buttons that make them buy something you incorporate that into your marketing strategy.

Behavioral styles also affect how easily someone adapt to the new economy. Some people are very outgoing and find it easy to change, while others are reserved and hate change because they like the status quo. For the latter, it is difficult to make the changes they need to adapt to the new economy while others embrace it readily. It is up to you decide, and actually if you would someone who a change, to figure out a way to adapt that feels comfortable to you.

Earlier in this article I referenced the change in how people work today. For instance, when you work from home you can charge your customer a higher fee per hour. Since a company may not need someone more than 10 or 15 hours a week, by working with 3 to 5 companies, you can generate a higher income working from home. This also allows you flexible hours, so you can set appointments with doctors and not lose time from work or pay.

Even though some people have a hard time adapting to the new economy and the use of the technology, it will make our lives easier than they were in the past. Life is ever lasting change over time, because nothing stays stagnant.Every business in this world has to learn to change how they do business. Every brick and mortar store asked to have a website or store front on the Internet-- which allows them to do business 24/7 days a week without closing their doors.

Being unique and different will make you stand out when it comes to attracting business for your services and products.Good customer service brings people back to your business and poor customer service can lose you business. Building a successful business over time were a long-term mean a damn thing your business on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. Time is ever-changing and we need to constantly change and update all of business to what is going on at the current time not based on how business was done in the past.
